YOUNG DEMS: WE WANT DEAN
The Executive Committee of the PA Young Democrats Endorses Howard Dean
for Chairman

The Pennsylvania Young Democrats (PAYD) Executive Committee announced
their endorsement of Howard Dean as the next Chairman of the Democratic
National Committee after their January 26 board meeting. PAYD urges
members of the DNC to vote for Dean at the February 12, 2005 chair
election in Washington, DC.

"Howard Dean is exactly what the Democratic Party needs," said Tony
Campisi, PAYD President. "He is bold, he is aggressive, and he is
outspoken. Howard Dean will not hesitate to upset the status quo and
that is precisely the type of leader Democrats should demand," Campisi
added.

PAYD solicited comments from its members on the issue of who should
chair the DNC. The overwhelming reply from Young Democrats across the
Commonwealth who commented on the issue was in support of Dean’s
candidacy. "He is outspoken about the Repulican Agenda, loud enough to
be heard, and strong enough of a leader to encourage growth. I think he
is exactly what the Democratic Party needs," said Stephen Dupree,
president of the Beaver County Young Democrats and Southwest Regional
Director for the state organization.

"I am a 35 year-old, white, Irish Catholic, suburban father of two who
never got involved in politics before 2002. I support Howard Dean
because he is plain spoken and stands up for what we believe," said
Mark Orth, a Young Democrat from Bucks County.

"It has become painfully clear that the business-as-usual attitude
within the Democratic Party is failing. Democrats have their smallest
number of seats in the Congress in decades and the result is a right
wing attack on one hundred years of progress, including social
security, education funding, and the fundamental right to individual
liberty and choice," said Campisi. "Across the world, the neo-cons in
the White House have destroyed America's reputation and mis-led the
nation into a quagmire in Iraq. Our party needs a leader who can speak
intelligently on why this nation is heading in the wrong direction -
and Howard Dean is the one who can do that successfully," he continued.

PAYD will communicate their endorsement and comments from Young
Democrats to the members of the DNC from Pennsylvania and to members of
the state's Democratic Congressional Delegation prior to the chair's
election on February 12 in Washington, DC. Campisi, PAYD Corresponding
Secretary Herb Riede, and PAYD South Central Regional Director Don
Palesky will attend the meeting in Washington as observers.

3. This young MD Democrat Wants Dean, too.
I wrote letters to all the MD DNC office holders endorsing Dean. Now I'm just hoping and praying that they have the sense to see that Dean is the best person for the job.

6. This is so Cool! How Sweet they don't
agree with their governor(Ed Rendell).. that someone else other than Dean should be DNC Chair!

I think I remember reading that on DU ..that Ed Rendell was behind someone..not sure who?
