The End of the Honeymoon (Obama) by Starlight News 9/10/09

After a rather lackluster and off-key summer, President Obama came roaring back in the past few days armed with his compelling charisma and striking intellectual heft. Wearing his subliminally uplifting candy-cane tie while addressing a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night, he forcefully reclaimed both leadership and ownership of the struggling health care debate. With Jupiter essentially sitting on his Ascendant (18Aquarius03) through November 5, this renewed aura of successful outreach and increasing popularity will remain strong for the next eight weeks.

While the president’s poll numbers are likely to rise in the coming two months, the honeymoon will definitely end by the first week of November. Thus will begin the most difficult 10 months of his presidency, and the slumping poll numbers will become a visible indicator of a very stressful year. The Saturn square to his Venus (November 2009 through August 2010) suggests a decrease in popularity and personal appeal. He will seem more somber and increasingly beset with burdens. The Neptune transit to his South Node (February 2010 through mid-January 2011) suggests weak leadership, lack of focus, and too many vague promises. There is also the potential for high expectations that are disappointed or unrealistic. (I continue to have concerns about growing unemployment and a possible flu epidemic that adversely affects the economy from November 2009 through October 2010, as well as a foreign policy crisis at the end of this year.)

Obama’s fortunes will begin to change for the better around September 2010, when his progressed Sun moves into Libra and into an air-sign trine with natal Jupiter (00Aquarius52) through July 2011. This uplifting and beneficial shift will be strengthened when progressed Venus moves to quincunx natal Jupiter by December 2010 through September 2011, suggesting that Obama’s charisma will once again light up the nation after a somewhat dour and disheartening 2010 and following what might prove a rather disappointing mid-term election (progressed Inaugural Moon square Saturn in October and November 2010).

Lisa - Clearly, September 15 through 17 will bring some dramatic events. First the Sun/Uranus opposition - sudden unexpected events. Then Sun/Saturn conjunction- some sorrow following sudden event. A Mercury/Pluto square is also going on the 17th, bringing even more tension. It could be there is some very tense partisan bickering over health care. There could also be some more explosive events elsewhere. This will clearly be a big news period.

I also keep meaning to write again about Britain but never get to it. Watch for big drama and upsets impacting the British government from 9/15 to 10/11. Uranus is coming back to the Spring Equinox MC in London, triggered by all of these transits 9/15 to 9/17.
