A nice feeling of being guided.
It's been a while for me to feel this level of direction, and it's nice to have had it for a good reason. Thought I'd share because this is the groove in which I wish to live...

...on the way to the bus stop this afternoon, I noticed a bird trapped inside a trunk-sized and shaped grating (slatted and see-through). It needed help.. Immediately pausing to take in the situation, I saw that the bird must have flattened itself to get up into it, and in upset, could not consider going down as an option. I spotted a handle on it, and lifted it up on edge, and managed to quickly "shoo" the bird to the open side, along the ground. It went right along the edge and out, and flew away a bit shaken.

This is simple, but it had that feeling of watching a film; also, the bird wasn't nuts with fear, and the answers came much more quickly than if I had taken the time to rationally survey it. A quick question came to me that the handle wouldn't work, without any other consideration, simply upon noticing it, and the urge to just lift with it overcame the thought. Intuition overcoming thought, is the key. The bird probably would have gone nuts if I'd simply stood there, looking over the situation. And interestingly enough, it is a member of a species of gray jay with a somewhat nasty temperament and voice, with which I haven't had the best relationship. I'm happy to have had an opportunity to change that.

Thank you Guides and Angels! :hi:

2. Considering the number of folks noticing it but simply walking by,
the timing seems...oddly guided.

Thanks for the encouragement. :hi:

I remember a very good short science fiction story where a Japanese Artificial Intelligence formed an underground network of people who would help others, at the AI's direction. If the AI noted someone in distress, it phoned the nearest networker and directed them to be of specific aid: "At xxx and xxx streets, there is a man sitting on a bench, holding his head in his hands. He was fired today and has recently lost his wife. His favorite drink is a large latte with whipped cream and a cherry." The networker walks up and hands him the drink, which he recognizes as his favorite. He's stunned, and it significantly changes his day for the better. This is my vision of how people should be helping people. Peace..

What great joy that would bring to a life to be of such service, especially when bringing happiness to others. :D

4. You said it!
Wouldn't that be a job to have?!

I know we all do it in our own special ways, but that job sounds so delightful!

8. Do you know if this story has been adapted to an Anime?!?
As I was reading it I thought it would be an excellent Anime. I :loveya: Anime!

And to your OP, you were at the right place at the right time and the both of you bonded on a higher level that is most profound. :applause:

14. I can't even remember the name of the short story so I can't help.
I'd like to re-read it someday...another aspect of the story are American government agents who are attempting to understand and infiltrate the "effect" that has been noticed. The AI however is completely on to them and in the same manner it arranges for the unhappy to be served, arranges for the agents to be deflected.

You're right. I'll bet that one of the esteemed anime groups could flesh this story out into a very nice series :)

And thanks for the insight on bonding...that's what I felt, "more in contact with the world". I LOVE it when that happens. May it become more and more common for all of us! :hi:

7. I really do thank them.
FWWM, your encounter today is such a testament of how the opportunity for lending a hand presents itself all the time. Wow, there are so many stories of Good Samaritans I've encountered that I had to start believing that the Kindness of Strangers is an active part of spiritwork and not just coincidence. And comes about especially, like you said, "because this is the groove in which I wish to live..." Nice :hi:

9. I think I'm going to start "paying more attention"!
I've had opportunity to be on the giving and receiving end of this kind of "work". I so enjoy the giving of myself, and need to look for new and different ways to achieve this. What a great life's work to have. What a great goal for all of us!

first lesson I learn and still learning to do in meditation, not setting aside time to meditate but bringing awareness into every activity, really being there- no thinking of the past or futuring. I think you've hit the nail on the head, because sometimes I wonder if since there is no time but the infinity Now with Spirit, then setting our awareness in Now is how Spirit best communicates and guides :hi:

16. It is so simple, isn't it?
I find , for myself at least, rather than take time out to meditate, I am in a constant state of meditation...that is, when my brain is not in a fog !!! Sometimes by not "concentrating" on clearing the mind, things just manage to pop right in there, right time..right place! or right person, right perception. It's easy for me to understand it, maybe not so much for the rest of you? I do better communicating mentally, than verbally. Do you get where I'm coming from? It's hard for me to explain sometimes. Especially this late at night!!! Maybe I'm just not sure how meditation is supposed to work, and for me it's been a good thing.

17. No need to explain, that's exactly what I'm talking about.
Tried for so long to set the time to sit and be still, but just couldn't and didn't really like it, until I found out through gnosis this way of mostly being in the state - or the flow is more of what it feels like, a groove as Fire Walk said. The answers that pop in out of nowhere, the insight, the vision or sometimes a clear voice that makes me say out loud, "What did you just say?"
For clearing the mind, I guess it's different strokes for different folks, as they use to say.

10. Wonderful, FWWM
Blessings to you for helping your winged brother.

I know how you feel--a couple of years ago I was driving along a rural road near my house and saw something on the dividing line. I looked in my rearview mirror and realized it was a bird. I turned around and parked on the side of the road, warned MG Jr. not to leave his booster seat upon pain of death, and went out to see if the bird was hurt. Quite a few cars had been on the road (I don't know how it wasn't hurt up to this point), but when I went out into the road, no other cars came by. The bird (IIRC, it was a young mourning dove) let me pick it up and I carried it to the side of the road and put it in the bushes. It didn't appear hurt; perhaps it was having trouble learning to fly. I don't know if I did the right thing (was it some other critter's dinner that night?) but it felt like it was the correct thing to do.

I guess it's all about listening and being open to the messages the Universe is sending out all the time. In any case, good for you! :applause:

P.S.: I just caught of whiff of roses as I reread this before posting (and I have no flowers or flower-scented spray in the house)--always an angelic sign to me. :D

11. That's really odd...
I'm smelling them too, but because I went out yesterday when it was fairly warm, and cut "the last roses of summer" from my climber. I brought them in as buds, and this AM they were fully open and smelling up my whole LR area, by the breakfast room where they are in a bud vase on my buffet!!! These roses are the most fragrent of climbers I've ever grown, and they bloom continuously over the season! Rare that you mentioned smelling roses. Collective consciousness...in addition to our loving Angels?

13. Feathered angel
When my husband's nephew was a little boy he was staying with him for a day while his parents were doing something and they were outside walking along a small stream (trying to keep the kid occupied) and saw a family of baby ducks that were in trouble, they were being swept toward a culvert and didn't have the strength to get out. My husband got a paper bag and he and his nephew herded the baby ducks into it and then took them to their parents on the bank and let them out. The nephew is a grown man now but was retelling that story the last time we saw him a few weeks ago. The act of participating in helping the little innocent ducklings was a positive experience that has stuck with him.

I call all these innocent beings around us angels.

15. Nice story. I adore ducks :)
One of my divination card decks states that nature regards all its creatures equally, and holds no favor or favoritism. That makes me think that his having saved a family of ducks, is equivalent to having saved a family of humans. I wonder if the Universe calculates karma at this level?

Best regards to you and yours :)

18. according to ETs, it does
There is a calculator going on FT, 24/7. I've heard this from a number of different sources, one of which is Whitley Streiber.

Knowing this has made me a lot more hmmm, what shall we say, conscious, I guess, of how my actions impact others.

I just wanted to say I think you have the right take on this experience.

19. Very nice, thank you...
I have had some interesting experiences regarding being of assistance to our smaller kindred...including, once, what I took to be true feelings of gratitude.

All things wish to live to their fullest. We are obviously responsible to all living things, to the same extent, no matter the size and form. I have thorougly enjoyed these reinforcements regarding people being caretakers of Earth, and all Earthlife! :hi:
