A new study traced key words linked to particular moods and their frequencies in tweets. As it turns out, people are angrier on Thursdays -- yes, even more so than on Mondays.

Researchers from Northeastern and Harvard also ran tweets from the last three years against a word list to plot the country's happiness throughout the day. As expected, people are also unhappy during the hours of the standard work day. More surprising, tweeters on the West Coast are typically happier on average.

A quick glance at today's top tweets seems to verify this. Our solution: start the weekend early! (via Mashable)

I know I've seen a study or two somewhere that showed people were more productive (and happier) on fewer hours of work per week than the 40-workweek here. It might have been related to how France lowered their workweek hours from 38-40 to 35 and I think now down to 32 hours. We could do that in this country if we weren't governed by workaholics ;)

That's interesting about analyzing the twitterings.
