"Marcel the Shell with Shoes On"
Just about the most adorable short, little video I've ever seen. :loveya:

http://vimeo.com/14190306

(Thank you to one of our own here who shared it on her Facebook page!)

I couldn't resist posting it since it made me so happy, and, as we all know, happiness is spirituality at its best. :)

3. OMG! LOLOLOL...
I don't know what to make of it: adorable beyond reason, cuteness beyond cute, avant-garde? I guess it's just wonderful! Thanks, Dream!

4. The more I watch it, the more I catch in it.
For example, the little being said "Do you want to see me talk on the phone?", and then he/she stood ON the phone while speaking. Things like that which I missed the first time.

I don't know if you ever watched South Park, but there was a little character named Ike who was the adopted toddler brother of one of the characters (Kyle). Ike was originally from Canada, so he had the round head that South Park shows all Canadians as having (lol), and he was just adorable. I fell completely in love with that little character. I even bought a plush toy and a keychain. (This is not something that I usually do.) This little shell being really reminded me of Ike -- full of sweetness and innocence.

Also, in reference to the little piece of lint as a dog, I would usually have thought that was cute but meh -- OK. However, my little neice talked me into joining her in an on-line Facebook game called Pet Society where you have a little pet that you take care of. I thought that it was stupid, but it was a nice way to connect with my neice. She rarely plays now, but I've fallen in love with my little virtual pet and can't just abandon her. She's always so happy to see me. :) Because of this, I understood this little shell being's lint dog. When she said "I love you" to it, it brought a huge smile to my face since I've actually told my little virtual pet that she's so cute, etc. Silly, but it's the truth...

5. Oh my goodness. This is the laughingest
morning I've had in a long time.
That was the funniest, saying "I love you" to the lint.
And you tell your virtual pet I love you  I can't stand it. That is funnier than me saying it to my plants  I make sure no neighbors are around when I do this :D but I know they've heard me. Hmm, maybe virtual plants are in order.

6. Well, I haven't yet told my little virtual pet that I love her...
Edited on Mon Sep-06-10 01:05 PM by I Have A Dream
but I certainly have grown attached to her and think that she's adorable. Love can't be far behind! :D

I like to think that it's sort of the way that the Universe sees us. We're so limited in this dimension, but we're so loved.

I'm allergic to most animals, so my virtual pet is as close as I'm ever going to come to having an animal companion. I can so relate to little Marcel with her little lint pet. :loveya:

(I don't know for sure if Marcel is supposed to be a male or female, but I'm going to say "she".)

8. Oh, such a silly morning for me
I got confused and misread
Yeah, I tried to have a cat but had to let my beloved Peggy go. I miss him  My allergies were just too awful. Used to see him running around the place or wake up feeling him sleeping on my chest that he used to love doing. Luckily, we found him a wonderful home and he doesn't come around much anymore.
I can't believe I'm thinking of checking out the virtual pet game

13. I can not. I repeat: I cannot go as far as
Farmville, because my sisters and sil will never let me live it down  after I begged them never to talk to me about it :eyes:

14. Oh, yes, don't do FarmVille, Blue. I'd never suggest that.
Actually, I'd never suggest any of it. People are either drawn to such things or they're not. These games take a lot of time, and I don't even do most of the things that they offer.

For me, it's just a great way to connect with my family since none of them live close to me, except for my husband. I'm the one who got them hooked on the games, although I never pushed them into playing. I now do much less in the games than they do. My family's good though; they never push anyone to play anything that they don't want to play.

You seem as though you're a very busy person who already has a full life. At some point, if you decide to get a virtual pet, that doesn't take much time at all -- just a few minutes a day to do the part that I find enjoyable. I won't count on your doing it though! :)

7. I see Farmville or Fishville or one of those "villes" in your future, KOB!!

:hi:

Seriously though, this was so adorable. I agree, Dream, the more you watch, the more you pick up, and the more adorable it becomes! When she was hopping around ON the phone...

So cute about the virtual pet; I don't think it's silly at all. Anything that causes us to feel good and makes us smile, and causes no harm, is a beautiful thing in my book.

There's something about her voice...goodness that voice is just so lovable!!!

You know what else I've noticed? Seemingly silly videos like this...that are heartwarming and lighthearted and just cute to the extreme seem to appeal to MEN a lot! I like that observation. :)

9. So true. Once upon a time I gave
up on the silly and incredibly adorable because of what people thought. But no more. Besides feeling good, it's so energizing. I'm so glad the director wasn't hampered by what people may think and just did it! :)

12. Yeah, and look at all of the responses that the video got.
I didn't see one negative response. People had fallen in love. :D

10. yes, my husband really liked this.
Edited on Mon Sep-06-10 01:28 PM by I Have A Dream
He also loved Ike. He still uses the Ike keychain that I got him. Well, actually, he lost his or somehow accidentally destroyed it, and I gave him mine because he was so sad at losing his. :loveya:

I really hope that they do more videos of this character. I don't know if you saw all of the responses to the video, but people were clamoring for more videos. Even the guys (as you said) adored Marcel.

I'm so glad that our friend here posted it and that I saw it. :D
