I know I should post this in health
but you are my friends and I don't know them. I just sort of want to ramble a minute. About 2 months ago, I found Mark Hyman (what a name) Ultra Metabolism. Maybe even from one of you. So anyway, it really made sense to me. We had lots to do during that time, so after getting to the right time and place, we've begun.

I am in the process of withdrawing from coffee, sugar, chocolate, fat, butter, milk, cheese...all the things my French part loves. Anyway, it's been a very tough 3 days. I discovered, I hate plain vegetables. I hate brown rice even more. My liver is so toxic that mostly I throw up or sleep in between the headaches. But there are moments in between this agony that I can see a path. So, off I am to heat some more vegetable broth and drink more water and then who knows what.

My Beloved is going through his own agony and it brings up emotional shit as well. We have both been trying to treat each other with kindness, but sometimes it is very difficult.

Yes, I'm following the program to the letter, except for the fact that my partner said, nah, no middle week, let's begin...so maybe this is harder than it needed to be. But other than that, we're there (where ever there is.)

Wish us luck!

1. Can't you season the vegetables? Tamari sauce, or herbs
& spices like turmeric or curry? Lemon juice?

5. I haven't tried tumeric or curry. Lots of lemon juice
which may be why I throw up so much.

2. Godspeed, WhiteTara...

I hope the extreme discomfort passes soon, for you and your partner. They say going through a regimen such as you're doing, together, is akin to having construction done on a home.

Both rather brutal from a relationship standpoint.

But when you're through it, you'll both feel so much better and be connected in yet another way. Good for you!!!

LUCK!

(I need to do something like this soon, too)

3. Best of luck to you--it's hard, but worth it in the long run
Just listen to your body's messages and give it what it needs, okay?

As for plain vegetables, I found when I was doing my hardcore HCG diet that they went down better with a lot of black pepper. I also seasoned things like cauliflower with garam masala, an Indian spice mix that a friend made for me. Here's a recipe for it: http://indianfood.about.com/od/masalarecipes/r/garammasala.htm

Hang in there, WT.

4. You go, WhiteTara!
We are there with you in spirit. A good detox sounds like it will pay off in the long run. Keep us posted. Yes, you might have made it harder by not ratcheting it down slowly...........
