Juno
I'm trying to wrap my head around the symbolism of the asteroid Juno, especially non-partnership meanings, if any exist. Virtually everything I've read about Juno is described as depicting one's significant other, whereas that almost certainly is not relevant to the particular "Juno puzzle" I'm trying to figure out.

1. I copied a little snippet re: Juno some time ago
into my little notebook where I keep my info on me and one other person.

Frankly it doesn't make sense and I don't get it. It's arse backwards. I have Juno in Leo; John has Juno in Cancer. From the descriptions, it is absolutely arse backwards. The Leo description fits him to a "t." My personality is totally Juno in Cancer.

Maybe it really isn't about partnerships, maybe most astrologers got that one all wrong? Maybe Rick can explain?

If it was about business partnerships, our Juno's would make more sense. But romantic/SOs? Totally arse backwards...

2. The latter is what I am suspecting
*Nothing* I have read is consistent with the ground truth I've seen. And now I'm looking at a chart that seems to have something significant happening with Juno, yet that something is almost certainly not regarding partnership, at least not in any conventional sense .

3. I'm sorry, I'm not up on Juno
I don't follow it because there's enough stuff to follow. My friend William Meader is a fine esoteric astrologer. He only follows those 4 major asteroids when they're on the angles. I do know that Ceres is kind of a mixture of Venus and the Moon. I have checked that out to be consistently true that those with strong Ceres have green thumbs.

Pallas Athena and the 4th, Vesta I know next to nothing about. It shouldn't take much research to find out though.
I wouldn't put much emphasis on any of these unless they are really strategically placed like next to your Sun or Moon or on the ascendant. :hi:

4. I'll attest to what you said about Ceres

I have Ceres within minutes of my Sun, and both are close to the descendant. I have plants all over my house, gardens outside and definitely have a green thumb. I'll add to that interpretation - a strong, almost warrior-like, sense of environmentalism and the idea of the Earth and Nature as Deity.

5. Juno does depict a marriage or partner, but also
it has a lot to do with commitment of all kinds. It could be a commitment to a job or a life's path, or a talent. The USA has Juno on the midheaven opposite Chiron, and marriage is always such an issue for us. Since the midheaven is also representative of the president, how our commander-in-chief handles marriage is a big deal to the people. And then of course all the hoopla over what constitutes the 'right' kind of marriage. There have been huge struggles in our past over polygamy, interracial marriage, and now, gay marriage.

Also, Juno on our midheaven in Libra shows how important the ideal of the union, sticking together, being true to our founding vows, our constitution, etc., is to us. But then as soon as a group defies a principle held dear, we want a divorce. In addition, a prominent Juno in Libra opposite Chiron in pioneering Aries has coincided with us seeing anyone different as an other to be at first destroyed or demonized, and then eventually integrated. Kind of an us-vs-them mentality that eventually accepts the differences. Like the vicious fights of an old married couple.

I have been studying US history and our chart, which has led me to think a lot about Juno. We also have to keep in mind with Juno that there is a feeling of having been disempowered and so demanding one's due. That is consistent with the fallen Queen of Heaven.
