1. Progressive churches....
Honestly, that might be the best, most organized network to tap into right away.

Progressive churches are involved with poverty and homelessness in their communities. They're already a network that can be researched and contacted.

That thought came to mind and I wanted to share it. :)

5. It is hard
Edited on Sun Feb-20-11 11:56 PM by Ricochet21
to express the uniqueness of the planetary arrangements now. I have never seen anything like it, and, it's just starting.
It's real. It's real big. It's huge. It's happening on all levels. Good. Bad. In between.

No revolution is painless; I guess we'll see. But, it is very real.

This doesn't mean it's all going to happen on that day. This is the bookend answer to what started 5/27/10. After 3/11, Uranus will be in Aries for 7 years.

13. Rick sometimes I get goose bumos
and chills when I think about the magnitude of what you are trying to tell us.
It's really appreciated, your directions for navigating the madness! :toast:

14. I have done this a long time
I try not to give out goosebumps, but this, is goosemountainrange time.

You see the Plut in early Capricorn has set up all of this stuff.
Now, transiting Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn are all on squaring Pluto. That's what adds to all of this.

These changes have never been dreamed of. It can be great if we stick together.
The story with PL is clear. If you have no integrity or are codependent, you are being stopped.
PL will only allow strong individuals to continue.

It does have great magnitude
We simply took things too lightly and for granted for too long.
We were warned.
It ain't over. We can be extremely victorious in an Aquarian way. Gotta get those Aquarians active :hi:

7. The black SUVs only seat, what, eight?
It's hard to fit an entire nation into them.

3. Sometimes that happens.
You have the best intentions in the world and you end up with flames. I would ignore the rude ones.

6. Bobbo isn't rude, she's brutalized
Bobbo is less rude than victimized into a state where she is lashing out in every direction.

When one is desperately poor, everyone who isn't desperately poor starts to look like the enemy or indifferent or exploitative. And to a greater extent than many privileged people realize, they indeed are the enemy or indifferent or exploitative (and it does not take a lot to look fabulously wealthy to the homeless. I'm on SSI and I live in public housing, and I am, comparatively, a very wealthy individual).

In this case I think she was reacting to something you did not say, but she has certainly heard. That is, the "suggestion" by privileged people that people for whom absolutely everything is a struggle, even finding a place to crap, do "X" (fill in whatever the X du jour is) to "help themselves" (while the privileged person presumably will stand on the sidelines and applaud). What such privileged people fail to realize is that the mere fact that the desperately poor person is still alive is proof they're using every scrap of their energy to "help themselves".

The unfortunate fact is that the long term homeless, by and large, after tremendous brutalization, are not fit enough to organize much. The second tier poor, people like me at the moment, or the recently homeless, yes. But after years (or even months) of homelessness, exposure, hunger, and brutality, the long term homeless are people in need of a serious rehabilitation program -- they need food, warmth, and whatever we have to offer for the worst of PTSD -- and not organizing.

How do I know this? I was homeless, 1981-83.

9. While I don't disagree with what you said at all...
the fact of the matter as it pertains to that particular individual is that many have tried to be of assistance, in a multitude of ways -- personally (which I respect isn't wanted because it feels like charity), as well as helping with her projects to further education about this issue. To my knowledge, it nearly always ends badly every single time; dozens have engaged behind the scenes. I have very direct personal experiences, beyond the Internet, to base this on.

The nonstop attacks in well-intentioned OPs, especially when others' posts have the intention of doing exactly what she is constantly yelling for us (progressives) to do, is sabotage at its best. I've tried to start ACTION threads on doing something about the issues of poverty and homelessness -- direct action to raise awareness and do something specific -- and they always, always get derailed because of one individual. Helping it stay focused on the OP is one thing, sabotaging the thread is another.

Regardless of the reason behind it, that's what I've seen play out for years, and I find it appalling and so very counterproductive to the issue she champions.

10. And, I'm going to alert on that every single time...
for posts that "derail otherwise thoughtful discussions."

11. There is no question she sabotages herself, as well as derails useful conversation
I'm just saying that there's a reason for it.

12. Yes, I understand that. I don't think anyone doubts it...
if they've been here long enough and know her story.

I do have compassion for her, yet she is a perfect example of me realizing I must choose compassionate detachment.

But I hear you, Oak2004.

:)
