Make a wishlist of 101 things. The Aladdin Factor.
I love going to church rummage book sales.
You never know what you might find.
Along with a Sufi book I found The Aladdin Factor.

It's not new but it is based on the idea that all you have to do is ASK...

I believe Jack Canfield is one of the authors..

Of course, be careful what you wish for...

Don't scrimp on yourself. Don't ask what you think you can have or deserve, ask what you really want...

ahhh, but that's the clincher, of course. The clarity of vision...

1. The Aladdin Factor is my favorite book
I learned to ask. I'm sure some of the people in my life think I have NERVE. ;-)

Ask, ask, and ask again.

:woohoo:

8. Whenever I get a "no", I ask
Maybe that's weird to other people, but I'm always going to ask.

Example: My original flight home from New York went through Atlanta. I said to Mr. Missy Vixen before I left home, "Maybe I'll get bumped."

He said, "You're on miles. They won't bump you."

I didn't ask, but it was out there. ;-) I got bumped. They put me on a direct flight that landed an hour after the original flight was scheduled to.

I should make some notes about how many times in life I have asked politely, and gotten what I need as a result.

Mostly, everyone should read "The Aladdin Factor." ;-)

3. Interesting
I have been researching and asking for a new car, a hybrid (not skimping this time, I want what I want) and my current car stranded me while out shopping on my supposedly peaceful vacation day Friday and there in the mid-July heat it was the LAST STRAW. I contacted a dealership that carries what I want but due to the disaster in Japan they had none and it might take a while to get one. Ok, fine, get the old car fixed and wait. They found one Monday and I will trade today, which happens to by my birthday, LOL. My wish came with a car payment for quite a while but I have wanted a hybrid for so long.

The last time I got a new car I felt so guilty, like I am not someone who deserves something good at all, like I should be ashamed to have something and it would make God or whatever angry with me for having it. I was actually ashamed and scared and worried constantly about how disgusting and selfish people would think me because I am a class of person that does not deserve it and I was overstepping my bounds and would suffer.

Strangely, I'm not having so many of those thoughts this time. Everyone buys a car from time to time in life and it doesn't make me special enough to be cursed for it and to try to limit my excitement to keep from anyone noticing. This is such an advancement for me. For so long I felt like to be good and spiritual I had to try to only save money and have very little, keep my head down and know my place and that I deserved nothing because I was intrinsically sick (which translated to bad from birth with little hope). I have backed off some in my participation in groups that reinforce this view of myself lately and frankly, finally got my depression and anxiety disorders treated medically for the first time in 18 years (I thought anything but spiritual help in that area would show me to be weak and lazy). It seems this may be opening up a spiritual view for me that allows me to be ok with myself and some of the things I want in the world, which overall aren't grand. This is developing but I see a difference that is huge in the way I am approaching trading my old car this time around, and I actually think it is good. Maybe the point of the exercise is seeing that being "not special" has a positive meaning? That I can live in the world as most people do and not be cursed for it because I deserve "special" punishment for my everyday, not outlandish, wants?

Sorry for such a lengthy post, but not obsessing that I'm someone who needs to keep their head down and keep in their allotted place leaves my mind room to start seeking more "clarity of vision".

5. woo-hoo!
Happy Birthday, GRO! What a great story. What kind of hybrid are you getting?

I'm glad you have limited your exposure to the downer class. You deserve the very best.

9. Hugs to you Why Syzygy
I'm getting a Honda Insight and it's RED, lol!

Thank you for telling me I deserve good things, it's only taken 47 years for me to barely take a small step in wondering if I possibly do.

Yes, the "downers" make a career of trying to ensure that others will believe they are truly doomed if they don't drape themselves in a properly miserable attitude of their choosing.

13. My husband is like that.
He has to be convinced that he is worthy of good things.

I spend a lot of time convincing him that he deserves the best.

4. A reminder...and another invitation:
We often talk here about not only allowing ourselves to ask and to feel worthy of asking, but to focus on what we are calling forth, set our intentions and see it "as if" it has already happened.

I'm equally passionate about people sharing their wishes, hopes and dreams as I am people opening their hearts to ask for help with more urgent needs.

There is a category at Wishadoo's WISHLIST called WISHES & DREAMS -- it's where you can "put it out there."

Even if it's not a request for others to help manifest this dream, it is a space filled with positive intentions to allow others to join you energetically to "seed" your dream.

Perhaps the dream will evolve enough so that you may indeed post elsewhere in the Wishlist to ask for specific assistance in some way. Maybe you'll connect with others with similar dreams.

There are no posts there now. Be brave and be the first or one of the first. :)

It's a start....

Perhaps we should consider it compassionate to be attentive and loving toward our own needs...and dreams.

If I can get people to open up about their wishes and dreams, there's a storytelling project -- telling YOUR story -- in Wishadoo's future.

Wishes & dreams are different from well wishes & prayers, imho. Here is the space created for that purpose.

7. I'm familiar with them...
Well, I think I know what you're talking about.

The MasterMind program I'm familiar with is a women's entrepreneurial group, but I found they're primarily focused in CT for now.

Do you mean Intenders for the Highest Good at intenders.org? If so, the language used at Wishadoo is counter to their intentions, per their founder.

;)

15. In my humble experience, asking is all it takes for some things.
Edited on Sat Jul-23-11 10:22 AM by BlueIris
Example: Let all my spirit guides who want to move on do so, and all those guides who want to come through to be my new guides do so. This worked out very well for me, circa the fall of 2008. Other things that have come through over the years as the result of my asking: Two luxury vacations, (seriously) a new (pre-owned) car and well, my personal hero. Who came into my life exactly when I needed him and stayed for three years.
