Could someone summarize the idea behind the "Secret"?

I would love to begin to practice it as I gather it is about manifestation but I can't afford the $49 right now but I would love to understand the principles! I would like to concentrate on a health condition I have! Is there a summary available?

on google videos or You Tube & you will probably find it, search for The Secret or Secret Law of Attraction--that's how most of us first viewed it.

and found it very informative and interesting. Listen to the ones on the law of attraction, The law of deliberate creation and the law of allowing (#8, 9, 10)in particular.

I'd be willing to bet, Saracat, that if you give it a few trys tomorrow or the next day, it'll be up and running somewhere. But, Wovenpaint is right, there are plenty of avenues to read about material about The Secret, right online. Keep checking for the video, it'll pop up again, it was off at first when I was looking for it too.

In doing this, I received another dose of the reality of LOA.
It was exactly what I needed.

I immediately ordered a copy for me the next day. I've seen it about six times. I gave my copy away to a friend who I knew would really love it. I have another copy for me on order. It is so clear and gives actual techniques to use to manifest whatever you desire. It's much, much more that positive thinking. I've been into Abraham Hicks since 11/04 and I can't get into it enough. I'm incorporating it into my everyday life as quickly as possible. In The Secret one of the techniques was to visualize checks coming out of nowhere. Well, today was payday at work. I'm one of the directors -there are six of us-and out of the clear blue sky, we all received a bonus check for $1,100! I realize to a lot of people that's not hugh but to me it is. I couldn't believe it. I've been visualizing the checks coming since last Sunday and five days later......checks are coming. It freaked me out! This stuff truly works. Needeless to say I'm playing the lotto tomorrow night. My advice would be to at least try to borrow a copy.

If you can't afford the video there is plenty online about LOA, just do a google search on it and read to your heart's content. The basics are the same in the articles, though the approaches will vary. .

Also, Esther Hicks has a book I saw referenced in several articles, "Ask And It Is Given" which is available in paperback at Barnes and Noble. Interestingly, when I called my local B & N to see if they had it, I said I wanted to know if they had the book and before I could say who the author is, the woman on the phone said, "By Hicks"? I asked her how she knew and she said a number of people had called for it over the last month.

Basically:

What you focus on is what you attract. So remove your attention from what you don't want. Don't dwell on what you lack (easier said than done). Put up less resistance. Believe that your wishes, if in alignment with the positive universal energy at the core of your being, will manifest. Ask specifically for what you need. Practice this positive affirmation everyday.

But the movie is more inspiring than these words convey.
