Snake Dreams...
What do snakes in a dream mean?

Last week my mother-in-law had a dream that my children were playing with some eggs and she told them to put them down because they were snake eggs. But they hatched and started biting my children. Then a few days later, my husband had a dream that he was holding snakes and he couldn't put them down because the children were around and he didn't want them to get bit, but he was getting bit.

Now I think my husband's dream was simply in response to my MIL's dream. But what does her dream mean? Any ideas?

1. snakes
often have phallic overtones, or can refer to whatever kinds of sexuality issues are going on. However, they can also refer to some sort of danger- they do have a poisonous bite, for sure. Your Mother in law's dream might show the potential for some family problems, or problems the kids might encounter as they are growing up. Then your husband's dream seems to verify what she said- that there will be some problems that he will do his best to protect them from. And the warning is for him to protect himself as well. It would be hard to say what the actual danger was, could be gossip, or something related to aggressive behavior- depends on what snakes mean to you, your husband, and m.i.l. Certainly interesting to consider.

2. I think snakes = fear.
I've had snake dreams before, and they always seemed to be rooted in something that I feared.

3. In ancient religion
snakes symbolised knowledge. Ergo, the snake who tempted Eve with knowledge, and as used in the staff representing the medical field. Is there something going on in the family that you don't want the children to find out about?

4. Thank you for all of your
insight. There has been abuse in the past when my husband was a child and the children briefly know about it, but as far as I know, there is nothing currently going on. I'll share your thoughts with my husband and maybe we can figure it out.

Thanks again!!
