Wonderful/terrible vacation.
This is long.

Three weeks ago, a couple of my cousins and I took a trip to Hawaii. We started planning this a year ago. Since I am caregiver for my elderly father who has dementia, my sister came and stayed with Dad while I was gone. We rented a beach house on the North Shore across the road from the ranch where Jurassic Park was filmed. When we first glimpsed the beautiful, clear, green water of Hawaii, it was like a dream. Our cottage was right on the water and there were beautiful green mountains across the road on the other side.

We settled in to stay for 8 days in paradise. I walked up the road to a fruit stand an bought a bunch of flowers for our dining table. When I got back, I walked inside the gate and fell on the sidewalk, scraping most of the skin off my right forearm. It actually felt like someone pushed me down. Fortunately, one of my cousins is a nurse and she patched me up, and after awhile the pain subsided, probably because the nerves in that area were severed (it's still numb). Anyway, we fell asleep to the soothing sounds of the ocean.

Next a.m., when I went out to our rental car for a map, I discovered the back driver's side window had been broken out. The police officer who answered out 911 call said that it was very unusual for this type of thing to occur on this area of the island. After dealing with insurance and getting a replacement vehicle from the rental company, we spent several wonderful days touring the island, eating fabulous fruits and learning more about Hawaii. We made plans to go to the Polynesian Cultural Center for a tour and an evening luau. On the afternoon before the event, we came back to our beach house to discover that our luggage had been stolen. We were devastated. The two police officers who responded to our 911 call told us that this happens frequently on the island, that there are people who are always watching for opportunities to steal something that they might be able to sell so they can buy drugs. At this point we were ready to go home early, but the woman who owned the house was so upset about it that she offered us her own home in Honolulu for the rest of the week. (She was on the mainland) We went to her fabulous home overlooking Honolulu and Waikiki and stayed for the rest of the time, visiting botannical gardens, and other places of interest.

All in all it was a wonderful vacation and I'd love to go back again. The reason I posted this on the ASAHG forum is that I feel there may have been karma clearing involved here: In the falling event and the car break in and burglary.

1. This is really interesting! I was on vacation about 3 weeks...
ago also, and I fell into a ravine at the beach. I had to be taken in an ambulance to the emergency room. This happened for me on the 17th. What day did your accident happen?

I didn't feel as though someone pushed me though.

I'm sorry that you had so many unfortunate events happen, japple. My one incident was more than enough for me.

:(

3. In the past I have had "visions" of a brown-skinned
woman standing on the beach, staring out at the ocean. And I've always had a thing for palm trees (all my doodles are of palm trees), coconut, pineapple, tropical fruit, and Hawaiian music. I don't know if I was this island woman or if I was standing behind her looking out to sea.

I only learned a bit of the history of Hawaii, but I plan to read more. I have a feeling I have been there before. I hope it was not in the form of one who brought pestilence, disease or unwelcome western religion to the island.

9. Umm, it could very well have been the site
of a heiau...a holy place for the ancient Hawaiians because, so help me God, that's what this sounds like. This happened to an ex of mine,, I'm realy tired right now but I will post what he went through because , at least in his case, he defiled the heiau.

11. Thanks, Ecumenist. I'd be very interested in any more
information you have. I think that the Hawaiian Islands and other Polynesian Islands are the remnants of Lemuria, aren't they?

After spending just a short time in Hawaii, I have developed a huge desire to learn more about the Polynesian culture. Several years ago, my daughter gave me a CD of Israel Kamekawiwo'ole (sp?), or "Bruddah IZ". When we got to Hawaii, I heard his music and saw his CDs and DVDs everywhere. I knew that he died in 1997, but didn't realize how important he was and how much he was revered by the Hawaiian people. It made me ashamed to realize how little I know about our 50th state; also very sad about what happened to the people. It is so much like what has happened to indigenous peoples everywhere: their land is taken and their way of life is destroyed in order to enrich a few. Sounds like "emminent domain" rationale, doesn't it.

If the negative things that happened to me on my vacation in Hawaii helped to balance the energy on the beautiful island of Oahu, I am grateful that I was able to be there.

5. Glad you were able to sort through this
I don't know about Karma, but I have heard about bad luck cycling through, I seemed to have
had mine in bunches, in 01 bought my car, branch fell on it, then someone hit me in a serious accident which was his fault, (4 months of pain/hospital visits) and had to have 1/2 of the new car replaced. Then after that happened, I had a serious accident (slipped on ice and put my head through my wrought iron porch railing) and crushed in 1/2 of
my skull, had to have my nose rebuilt, so that was almost a whole year of bizarre mishaps.

7. I admire the way you took these incidents in stride
Some people would look back on these mishaps and complain about their terrible vacation. You have a more constructive take. Good for you. I admire that.

a serious accident as well while on vacation recently.
Also a beach vacation.

And it turns out that both accidents happened on the same day??? Has any one looked at the planets for that day?
