Oh my! I just realized that one of my beliefs is that I have to worry
and stew and fret about thing! :wow:

That if I don't do that, then I won't get the things/people/situations that I want.

I've been working with The Secret, and just when I start feeling like I'm relaxing, letting go of worrying, stewing, and fretting, (AND feeling like I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING in the physical world), all of a sudden, I feel panicked! As if I'm saying to myself, "Oh my God, if I relax, then I'll lose everything I have, and won't get anything I want!" :scared:

I think I just discovered probably THE biggest block to my being able to manifest that which I really want! :smacks forehead:

And now, I really CAN begin to let go of that negative stuff! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

1. Congratulations on your epiphany, SG! Sounds as though you were...
putting a great deal of negative energy into your manifestation process. The first step to correcting that is realizing that it is happening, which you've done.

:applause:

6. Doncha love it?
I have smacked myself so hard on the forehead, so many times, I should have a permanent welt. We are so smart, nad so insightful, and so sensitive...and then something is so close to our field of vision that we miss it entirely. D'oh!

Glad you had such a great insight. Now the work gets easier, dunnit? :)

9. I came into this forum to see if anyone was talking about "The Secret"
Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 12:09 PM by Beaverhausen
My spiritual counselor told me about it the other day. She said there is a book and a DVD. When you say you are "working with" do you mean the book or the DVD?

I can't wait to get this and watch it. I think I have been following most of the principles of the secret for years and know that it works, but it's always good to get more info.

11. I have the book, but I've seen the movie too.
I've also known about a lot of the stuff the book talks about, but it's good to have it all together and to be able to reference it whenever I want.

10. I think it was on my election day prayer thread but someone
Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 01:22 PM by stellanoir
succinctly described "worry" as being prayer in a negative outcome.

Still there are circumstances we've probably all had that we've dreaded going to some obligatory family or business function wherein we end up having a really fun time despite all our angst. In those situations it is as though we are in some way burning off any negative potential.

What my standard rant to clients is about worry is. . .

"You know when you see someone in a park walking a dog but it appears that the dog is walking the person instead of the person walking the dog? That's how it is with our thoughts. We should be able to reign them in and not having them dragging us through the mud and through the briar patch. It's normal to have anxieties and worries for sure but the antidote for them are often, as prosaic as it may sound, positive affirmations and visualizations."

I'm very happy for you Seattle Girl. FEEL FREE :)

Thanks for sharing.

12. I like your "dog walking the person" rant.
It's a perfect analogy for this. Thanks, stellanoir!
