1. Hi, Stellanoir. Just saw you thread - love it,
will practice mantra.
A Question - again. Could you elaborate a little on the coming Saturn/Neptune opposition, as it seems to bounce around off other aspects untli at least mid-March?
Off to post in your thread.

2. It got banished to the lounge. Yikes
That's never happened before. I just sent an inquiry to the mods to find out why after posting all these similar thread this happened.

Yup there are some strange aspects hovering for sure.

3. I reposted it

After having no response from the mods or the admins I figured it was worth a shot.

8. I think that she can show the admins that she got 17 recommendations...
in just over 30 minutes. They weren't even close to all being from this forum. Obviously, people in GD have an interest, given this fact.

Of course, there will always be a few who will complain, but how's that different from anything else?

Yes, changing tactics is what we need to do!

9. I'm not doin' squat until skinner lets me know the skinny
or one of the mods responds to my inquiries in triplicate. I spent so much effort on that. People generally liked it. I'd like to know WTF the problem is. If they've changed their policy, then I think we should be told of it, and furthermore I think that if we can change anything through linear means exclusively, they're nutz, and I'd like some of what they're smokin' . I'll just post on my blogspot space again as soon as I've figured it out.

This has NEVER happened before.

10. In the "old days" this type of topic thread
was always sent to the Meeting Room, and now we have this Group for discussion. Seems like the Lounge too is OK at the present time.

I remember Nancy Waterman mentioning here that she had also tried to get her articles published on the Home Page and this was unsucessful.

Not a personal thing, just that Astrology and "Spirituality" are topics that the owners of this site don't generally want on main pages, I believe.

11. I remember when the Lounge recommendations would get things on the greatest page.
(At least I think that was the way it was.) Now, things can't get on the greatest page if they're in the Lounge.

Am I remembering correctly, DemEx?

The Meeting Room was goine by the time I got here. (At least I wasn't aware of it.)

12. Yeah but, , ,
(Az will love this title) the bottom line is this. I've been posting spiritual and semi humorous stuff on GD for years without a singular prior problem.

I've posted two astro threads prior to this one since December. On the first one I waited up till 3 am for a detractor and there was none.

People are craving spiritual stuff. I've contacted the mods and the admins about this.

We'll see what they say.

Otherwise I'll have to figure out a Plan B.

Too bad cause I had a lot of fun with these, especially the OBSW ones.

Maybe say a prayer.

Kidding sorta.

Fundamentally I got away with this sort of activity for a long while. I'd simply like to know why I got sunk tonight. I sense it was probably a random mod who had a bad association with astrology. That's why I'm waiting on skinner's response.

15. how about
a suggestion to the mods to place a disclaimer, some sites categorize astrology as "entertainment", if they must.

Some threads such as on photos and video's are also entertainment. Or do they want people to migrate onto various threads because GD is so heavy and active?

they were for entertainment purposes only.

Didn't think I had to here, This is too strange. I think it's only one irked mod. Not sure though. They NEVER did this before.

Still awaiting skinner's response. And he's got a new little one. But the lunation is quick to come. Tempted to post again as the third time is often the charm but doubt I will. I'm just too totally annoyed.

Oh well. Sleep will thankfully heal. Yikes again.

17. Stella?
Why don't you compose a journal for your highlight posts? When someone posts consistently something I enjoy, I check out their journal if they have one. Then when you post in ANY forum/group, people will have the opportunity to read your dynomite stuff.?

I'm not saying give on GD. A change of tactic may be what's needed. You're talking about prayer, so, yeah, maybe a prayer would help.

19. I'm wondering what
the Journals have to do with the Democratic Party? I don't align either. I've always been an Independent.
What is really silly, is we do only get two choices, if we vote and if someone counts them!

You're on the right track. Good Cheer :applause:

I'm going to go ahead and activate my journal. I hope you do too. It's better than using 'search'.

Skinner got back to me saying "astrology is not appropriate for General Discussion."

It's certainly his perogative to say so but the peculiar thing for me is that since the astro forum was established, the thought of posting astro info in GD never even occured to me until the Mars/Pluto/Gallactic center conjunction in January.

People were entirely receptive to that one and I was amazed that there wasn't a single nay sayer.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=3111016

ttp://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=3151528

So I was inspired to do one for the New Moon in Cap. That only garned only two detractors. Both of those threads ended up on the Greatest, thanks to you guys and many others.

So I agree that people seem to be hungering for this sort of info.

As to a Journal, I've only been back on a fully functional computer for about 6 weeks and my old one was functioning at less than 10 percent of its former capabilities so it wasn't an option until relatively recently.

The other issue is that I started a blog for stellascopes back in '03, but scarcely have posted on it and now oddly enough, I can access it from my old computer but not my new one and I cannot figure out that issue at all.

on edit-wow that was cool. Just by posting my dilemma in this magical forum, I figured out how to access it again. I'll get cutting and pasting over the next couple weeks. yayyyyyyyyyyyy

Anyway, with Uranus approaching descendant, I'm hoping to figure out the best approach to take.

Thanks for all the feedback and support.

votes-I do think I have resistance to a journal as I do see it as a kind of commitment to the party in some obtuse way, whereas posting here (with "drive by's LOL ) does not. I know that doesn't make sense but it's a feeling I'll have to wrestle with for a bit.

24. There's a VERY long history regarding Astrology on DU.
A very long, very contentious history. I was stunned when your first threads survived, and hoped that perhaps the times had changed, but apparently not. There's a reason this group is here - it was ONE of the reasons the groups were started in the first place - to give us a place out of the mainstream of DU to talk about the things we insisted on discussing. It all started in the Science forum...but that's history...oh well, if you weren't here then, you don't know the history. I can tell you this though - this is a fight you won't win. The skeptics are militant, they always have been, and they will not allow it. They still call us the woo-woos. We had monstrous flame wars, it was ugly. We were told we didn't have the right to be in the Democratic party, and certainly not on DU. We didn't have the right to own a computer, or any other modern appliance... These are just a few of the insults hurled at us. Others were...nastier, more personal.
The groups are Skinner's grand compromise, his attempt to make two sides who could not get along have a place of their own where they could discuss what they wished without the flame wars. Members of their group are not allowed to post here, and we are not allowed to post in their group - it is a MAJOR no-no.
So, I was hoping your threads would survive, but I'm sure some who didn't even bother to post on your threads made sure your thread disappeared.
I'm sorry it happened, stellanoir. Not surprised, but sorry.

25. Well it's motivating me to organize a bunch of older scopes
and beef up my blog so it's all right.

I may still post prayers for the lunations though and just leave out the astro speak like I did prior to January. Not sure yet.

I spoke with someone last night that's been on here since '01 and he expressed similar amazement that the previous threads had survived as well.

". . .We didn't have the right to own a computer, or any other modern appliance... These are just a few of the insults hurled at us. Others were...nastier, more personal. . . "

Unbelievable. . .not to say I don't believe they said that. I'm just floored by people who spew that sort of vitriol and judgment.

Thanks for sharing the history in all it's glory and specificity NB.

26. The history really IS that ugly.
The general opinion seems to be that the "pseudo-sciences" are somehow embarrassing to the left. I don't recall that it was ever stated directly, but I've always kind of had the opinion that we woo-woos are kind of viewed with some sort of bemused tolerance (just consider the Southern attitude toward the Batty Aunt and you are getting warm.)

I think some days that "bemused tolerance" gives way to a form of antagonism, and that is what you ran into with your posts.

I'm sorry, I really am.

I will also say that if you recall the last big upheaval in this forum, it was a set of Astrologers who were offended by some of the more esoteric posts going up in here. There is a stratification even among the woo-woos.

Take care, Hon, and try not to let it get to you.

29. Ackkk
"Water off a duck's back" as they say. In truth, I'm now feeling that I've been outrageously fortunate to have gotten away with what I have with so little derision and overwhelmingly positive reception for so long.

I can still write in GD sans astro lingo.

I'm looking at the chart for last night's Full Moon and laughing. Saturn was on the midheaven in my time zone and conjunct my Uranus and duh. . .duh . . .duh. . .stella gets busted for astro speak on the internet. It could have been far worse.

Mars is separating from a square to my Mars so I did get irked but now I'm writing a submission to another site to post stellascopes and focusing on my blog which is really more productive methinks.

So all is quite well.

It's also pecular to me how I always hear about flamewars and such but I rarely actually see them. It's as though I have some sort of psychic "ignore" function happening or somethin'

And the way we turned around OMC on election day was cool magic at it's finest.

So I'll keep "Ooga, Booga, Smooga, Wooga" -ing along quite merrily. Hope everyone else will as well.

Thanks Laura, you are a total sweetie.

Still gravely concerned about that "flutterby" though.

Oh and I meant to apologize for recommending the same prayer twice to you. I thought I had done it before but so many are challenged to change their work scenarios right now, I wasn't sure. Please excuse any redundancy.

I'm like a broken record about cocreation. I'll blame Kryon for that. Projections probably don't stick to "magnetic masters" anyhoo. LOL

But you guys. . .no more apologies. . .it's helped me fine tune where I can best apply my energies. Really.

Aaaand I always joke that if I ever got sainted (as if. . .) It would be as "the apologist" so I'm fiercely competitive about it.

Kidding. I love to pretend to be competitive about immeasurable things like who loves who, as my kid says "mosterestlyfullynestly more."

posts automatically enter your Journal.....so that doesn't take any more effort as I can see it.

But if it is another feeling holding you back I can imagine that too....
