So, in addition to financial trouble, Pluto in Capricorn brings us...a new James Bond?
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 02:12 AM by BlueIris
Anyone else notice that the actor (Daniel Craig) who replaced Pierce Brosnan as James Bond seems so much more suited for the James Bond of the Pluto in Capricorn era? (Yes, I know the next Bond film comes out on November 16 and Pluto won't officially be back in Capricorn at that point, but it's close.)

From the previews, he appears to be portraying the Bond character in a far more somber, austere way than did the lithe, snarky Brosnan. And Bond appears to be much more paired down in this movie than he has in previous incarnations.

1. Pierce Brosnan is not snarky!
I know I'm dense, but what does Pluto in Capricorn do again? I believe I read somewhere that in this new Bond picture James has a crisis of faith or maybe confidence and goes off to reassess, rethink what he does for a living. Does that seem in line?

Wish James Bond could come clean up Wall Street and fix the financial crisis!

2. I think Craig's presence embodies the harsh, cold, brittle and flinty Capricorn nature.

Brosnan was much brighter and friendlier to me, and seemed so saavy and worldly (very Sagittarian).

But now that you point it out, the Bond character being in crisis nicely parallels society's sense of crisis/hardcore questioning of purpose that mark this phase of Pluto in Capricorn.

4. I think of Craig's Bond as more down to earth, all business, and after years of
smarmy double-entendres and silliness, a welcome change. I especially disliked Roger Moore as Bond. Brosnan was good, but Craig seems more the no-nonsense man of action. That seems to parallel the crisis and questioning you refer to. Time to put aside the frills and get down to brass tacks!

Exactly.

My least favorite Bond is actually Connery. But that could be because I hate Sean Connery's work in just about everything (except "Medicine Man" and "The Untouchables."). And Sean Connery generally.

It's been almost obligatory to count Connery as the BEST Bond. I like him, but really I like all the Bonds because I focus on the movie and the storyline more than who plays Bond. A lot of people laugh at "Moonraker". It's one of my favorites.

My mom loves George Lazenby the best!
