Since we're re-upping the "what's your sign?" thread, I thought I'd restart this one as well.

Here's the original:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=245&topic_id=46133&mesg_id=46133

And for the record, my NN is at 14 Virgo in H10.

6. Yeah. I know she felt the need to move on, but I miss her.
Her input in our astrology discussions was always so valuable.

3. Hi, BlueIris.

I'm hanging over here these days. I'm getting a bit "twitchy" from GD. :D

My NN is 10 Scorpio 34' 50" in my 9th House. My 9th House is kinda crowded.

:hi:

edit to include link and some info from the archived thread.

With North Node in Scorpio, our South Node is in Taurus. With North Node in the eighth house, our South Node is in the second house.

A tendency to be overly self-reliant and set in our ways, to cling to our possessions (material and otherwise) and habits, to be too fearful of crisis and overly focused on security, and to attempt to achieve success through sheer will rather than listening to our sixth sense are some of the issues this position suggests. With this position, we need to loosen the grasp we have on the things and people around us and open ourselves up to our soul's need for transformation, change, and regeneration. We may experience difficulties in partnerships because we tend to be blind to others' values and worth, expecting them to share the same values as us. We, in fact, not only need a partner, we need to learn the value of true partnership and intimacy (sharing) in order to gain the security we so crave! But, first we need to move away from our instincts to support ourselves, and towards sharing with significant others. We may fear taking chances and we tend to resist change as well as input from others. We may find ourselves imprisoned by the world of the five senses, and need to learn to fearlessly confront the possibility of crisis and change in our lives. Moving out of the seemingly solid and stable material world can seem intimidating. But clinging to things and people that are either outdated, limiting, or counter to our growth will steer us in the wrong direction. Releasing ourselves from our attachment to doing things our own way will help us find inner balance and satisfaction.

From this link to cafe astrology I found in the archived thread. It's helpful for those of us not astrology-literate. :D

7. How do you find your north node?
Given the opening tone of this post, I'm temtped to add something flirtatious, but I'll refrain.

Really, I have my chart, but I'm not sure where to look to figure out my north node.

10. nn is Sagitarius retrograde
second house.

If NN is retro, does that mean that SN is also retro?

11. In case you don't know, cate94, retrograde for the nodes is not unusual.
Some of the websites that I have read say that the nodes are always retrograde, and others say that they're usually retrograde. I'm not an astrologer, so I don't know which is true.

However, what I wanted to make clear is that being retrograde is not unusual just in case you were thinking that this added some additional meaning to your nodes as it would for planets that are retrograde in your chart.

I can't answer the question about the South Node.

13. Yes it does.
The nodes are far more often retro than they are direct.

So don't sweat it.

12. I found this on the web and thought that it was useful information...
Sometimes in the astrological literature, you will see interpretations that color the North Node as all positive, and the South Node as all negative. Sometimes they suggest that you should strive to move “toward” the North Node and shun the qualities represented by the sign of the South Node. (As if that were possible.) I do not think this is a constructive way to look at it. Your South Node indicates an area of longing, but also of massive talent and gifts. The trick is channeling those gifts properly.

Think of the North Node as the head, and the South Node as the stomach. The stomach has the hunger, but the head has the mouth. So you fulfill the desires of the South Node through the energy of the North Node.

I really like this!

16. This is great
"The SN in Gemini means you overthink your decisions..." I guess they have my number.

I also found it interesting that site recommends that I use visualization. It is truly the only way I get anything done. Otherwise I just read, read, read...

Thanks for sharing.

17. Yes. I'm tired of reading the "SN, bad; NN, good" crap.
I've read some very extreme and inaccurate things about my life and it's direction from the folks who don't understand the complex interplay between North and South Node energy. Pisses me off.

18. I'm with you, BI. I certainly don't want to get rid of my SN Pisces....
tendencies as long as they're not holding me back or interfering with my ability to function during this lifetime. I'd never want to lose that important Pisces part of myself that I so value. I certainly wouldn't be the same person that I am today without it.
