I had another returning to high school dream
Edited on Wed Apr-15-09 01:09 AM by Shallah Kali
first one had me touring the school with some official eager to have me enroll there. This new dream from a couple of nights ago was more fearful. I showed up for the first day of school to find two of my real best friends (whom I lost touch with ages ago) there to meet me looking like they were still in their late teens. The person (a guidance councilor i think) who was supposed to help me get enrolled, take me from class to class, and who to a therapist to help me deal with the stress and turmoil of returning to my teens was not there. A young woman who was a couple of years younger than the other actual school kids and had been jumped forward a few school years hear me discussing this difficulty with my friends and offered to help. She took me to the teacher's lounge to meet her guidance councilor who she said had done wonders in psychotherapy for the girl's own Mother. We chatted a little and she offered to take me on in place of the councilor who didn't show up. I was nervous the whole time feeling like a little kid going to a new school instead of like an adult or at least a teen, but relived to have found someone who would help me when the dream ended and then went to something unrelated that I can't remember any more.

Most of my dreams are an incomprehensible hodge podge of badly colored and filled out sceens like a stage play and often cartoonish. Few are like little movies like this one with bright clear normal colors. Few are this clear and blatantly understandable so I am very excited to have the going back to high school dream get a sequel!

btw the first dream was about returning to high school to get a better education than the first time at bigger school than the one I actually went to that had a better rep for good tough classes. The example in my first dream was of instead of algebra i & ii I was to go into trig and calculus :hides:

1. Sounds like you're in process of getting a "higher" education

3. I am glad I am doing it in dreams and not really going back in real life
It is funny that soon after the first dream I saw an ad on tv for a new movie about a man waking up as a teen then going back to high school! I am much happier to do it this way via dreams and the self work I have been doing. Even better is the message that I am on the right track and getting a chance to go further taking the advanced courses!

2. Have you seen "Peggy Sue Got Married"?
If you are having dreams of high school, I suggest you rent it sometime.

It is a favorite of mine! Nicholas Cage and Kathleen Turner. There are a couple of scenes in this movie that are among my all time favorites for movie scenes.

4. Agreed!
That movie has a mesmerizing effect to it. I also like the fact that so much of it has a gold quality tint throughout, but then most of Coppola's films do!

6. It was on cable for years
It got to be a joke in my family--"Oh, no, Mom's watching Peggy Sue Got Married again."

I forget the plots of most movies--they just don't stick. But I can picture the scene where Peggy Sue talks to her grandmother on the phone perfectly. Then there is the scene with the clock tower, and Peggy Sue just staring at everything. And hysterical things like the pantyhose inventor!! Achh, now you have gotten me started.

5. I saw it years ago but can't remember anything other than those two were in it
The funny thing as I said in an above reply is soon after the first dream I saw ads on tv for yet another adult waking up as a teenager movie :p The only teen movie I can really recall is not a time travel type one. Encino Man. No wheezing the juice!
