Question about an amethyst cluster

I was in my favorite bookstore (ayesha, have you been to Renaissance Books in Springfield?) and I picked up and held an amethyst cluster. I didn't end up buying it then, but for the next 30 minutes my hand and upper arm tingled like crazy. Of course I ended up going back later buying it ;-) I figured it was trying to tell me something.

I'm holding it now, and my entire arm is numb, and my wrist is almost achey. Any thoughts on this?

I am puzzled that yours is making your arm feel numb. If it was mine I would cleanse it w/inscense, smudge, vizulizing it full of light and/or asking my guides/higher power(s) to please clear and charge it just to be sure it hasn't picked up anything less than healthy from another store visitor.

You can ask for it to come in the dream state. That would probably be easiest.

and neat that you had that experience. Obviously you are drawn to amethyst, and it is working with you to transmute energy. I am getting the hit, though, that you need to cleanse the crystal with white light and some sort of symbolic cloth--that way you aren't picking up on another's energy that was deposited on it.

I've had this cluster for about 2 weeks. I cleansed it by smudging when I brought it home, and charged it all night the night of and right before the full moon. I programmed it specifically for healing.

The hand and arm that goes numb is my left (I'm a lefty lefty). I've held the cluster in my right hand, and it doesn't make me numb at all. Shallah--I'm wondering as you mentioned if its drawing out some pain/healing some negativity from my heart, and thus the tingling only on the left>? I've had two readers tell me that I really REALLY need to work on healing my thoughts and relationship with my mother (she has borderline personality disorder but refuses treatment. Dealing with her can be a challenge). I'm really working hard on this.

I did just smudge and charge it again today, just to be sure nothing negative is holding on. Ayesha--can you tell me more about clearing it with a cloth? The only thing 'sacred' I can think of is a blanket made by my husbands grandmother that we are never without and use nearly constantly. Its very dear to us.

I don't know if that helps, but it would seem that since the numbness only happens on the left side that maybe it is a karmic issue.

....more than on the right. My left shoulder tends to act up when I start taking on energies & responsibilities that are not mine such as trying to 'fix' someone who can't/won't fix themselves. It is hard to see someone you care about continue down a self destructive path but it doesn't help them other than a temporary bit of relief to absorb their unhealthy vibes :( Keeping healthy boundaries both pychological and energetic is vital esp. if you have any empathic and healing abilities. Are you the kind of person near strangers tell their woes to? Do your friends and family lean on you and exclaim as they leave bright and chipper saying "I feel sooooooo much better" and you feel like you were drained by a vampire and had a ton of brinks dropped on you to? If you sit next to someone with a crick in their neck, back, other part or headache and then you start feeling like you have it too? If so you probably are empathic and It probably is as you said the cluster is drawing out old energy from your heart (& the rest of you too) esp. concerning your Mother.

If you do not already you may find it useful to develop a regular grounding and shielding practice. It need not take more than a minute or two. It is basically imagining sending roots out of your feet into the earth and then reinforcing your aura's natural boundary to affirm that only energies that serve your highest good and of high vibration may enter. Think of a cell's wall and how it bars germs but allows nutrients and such to flow freely. Or a simple window screen that blocks bugs (unhappy/unhealthy vibes) but lets fresh air (good vibes love joy etc) circulate.
