Spirit Guides and Earworms
Edited on Sun May-17-09 06:53 AM by MagickMuffin
While researching Spirit Guides and their communicating with us, one of the ways could be when a song pops into our heads. I didn't give it too much thought one way or the other.

Earlier tonight the song "Onward Christian Soldier" popped into my head. I wondered why, but again didn't give it too much thought. Then I was scanning GD, when I saw a thread about Frank Rich and GQ magazine publishing photos of daily notes Rumsfeld was hand delivering to Bush during the early days of the Iraq invasion, on these daily notes were pics of our military along with bible quotes. I went and checked out Rich's article which had a link to the photos. At the very top of the slideshow was the title "Onward Christian Soldier."

On the morning of Thursday, April 10, 2003, Donald Rumsfeld’s Pentagon prepared a top-secret briefing for George W. Bush. This document, known as the Worldwide Intelligence Update, was a daily digest of critical military intelligence so classified that it circulated among only a handful of Pentagon leaders and the president; Rumsfeld himself often delivered it, by hand, to the White House. The briefing’s cover sheet generally featured triumphant, color images from the previous days’ war efforts: On this particular morning, it showed the statue of Saddam Hussein being pulled down in Firdos Square, a grateful Iraqi child kissing an American soldier, and jubilant crowds thronging the streets of newly liberated Baghdad. And above these images, and just below the headline secretary of defense, was a quote that may have raised some eyebrows. It came from the Bible, from the book of Psalms: “Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him…To deliver their soul from death.”

This mixing of Crusades-like messaging with war imagery, which until now has not been revealed, had become routine. On March 31, a U.S. tank roared through the desert beneath a quote from Ephesians: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” On April 7, Saddam Hussein struck a dictatorial pose, under this passage from the First Epistle of Peter: “It is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.”

Perhaps my Spirit Guides were trying to communicate this to me. Hmmmmm

Just thought I would share this bit of info with my ASAH friends.

1. Hadn't thought of that
I know I have been "told" when songs had meaning--like "The Voice Within" by the Moody Blues, and "Deep" by the same group. I would say now that "I Wanna Know What Love Is" is making the rounds in my head, and it has been helpful in personal relationships.

5. I hadn't given it much thought either
but I guess I'm always ready to think differently and take notice of these kinds of messages.

2. Mine have been coming as visions
from the past that relates directly to now. The last one happened this week when I was struggling with clothing on a painting I'm working on. It's so frustrating because drawing cloth for me is relatively easy work. I kept seeing myself as a young girl hooking my mom's corset (yeah, late '60s and she was still wearing them). It was such a chore but they are really special moments of bonding with her that I treasure. Anyway, it finally dawned on me that it'll be a lot simpler if the woman in the painting was wearing a corset. Duh! and then I remembered the visions. Viola!, smooth sailing. Though those moments with my mom are special, I've had an aversion to corsets and girdles, and all restrictive clothing, so I certainly didn't intend to draw anything of the like. Yuck. BUT if only I can remember to stop and listen, I'd save myself a lot of frustration :(
Corsets, hmm... they're looking mighty sexy these days

6. I think our childhood memories play an important role later in life
I think back to my childhood and how I always seemed to have my own little world and liked being by myself. I used to have wonderful fantasies in my make believe world. Even though I'm from a large family I preferred my company more than being with my siblings.

Yes, I love corsets. I had one made that I wanted to wear over my clothes (kinda like a vest) however, they didn't make it the way I wanted. Damn I paid good money for it too. Ah well live and learn.

3. Sometimes I get a song fragment, an image from a movie or tv show, or just word or two that repeats
every so often. I don't listen well so they have to really work to get through to me :o About a month ago the words 'Tyrosine Zinc' kept popping up in my head. I thought it was just mind junk, that i had must have come across such a supplement reading up on something else at some point but googling came up with nothing. It did lead me to reading up on a real chelated form of zinc carnosine zinc which is a gut healer sold under the name pepzin gi that I have since tried and found very useful. I have also started using Tyrosine and I believe it has given me a bit more energy but will have to see how I feel after a couple of weeks on it.

7. I'm glad that the pepzin gi is working out for you
Maybe I should look into it, since I sometimes have gi problems.

Our thoughts seem to play such an important role, we just need to take the time and listen to them.

10. It is also called Polaprezinc in studies so use both when googling
It is mainly used to help heal ulcers but when I read it helped protect intestinal villi and permeability was not increased after giving the test subjects a strong NSAID I thought maybe it would help. From what I read the zinc carnosine sticks to wounded areas, protects it and stimulates and increase in the rate of healing. As Currently am dealing with celiac, other food allergies/sensitivies & ibs. Not cured but noticing improvements since adding l-glutamine & Vitamin D in a couple months ago along with my digestive enzymes and probiotics. Even more so since the chelated carnosine zinc sold under the name Pepzin GI roughly a month ago. First time I have been off imodium for days at a time in years! As a bonus about a week after starting the carnosine zinc I noticed my skin was getting softer.

Zinc on it's own is an excellent wound healer so any good form of zinc is worth using if you don't want to spend the $ to get this form. As with all minerals the oxide forms are hardest to absorb and chelated types are best. Some sites say albion chelates are the best but I have no plans to try them as they include black pepper extract in their supplements as pepper irritates my gut right now. They add it to increase absorption but I don't need that help thanks to thankfully inexpensive vitamin D :)

12. Thanks for the links, Shallah
I'm glad you are getting some benefits from your supplements. I suffer from some foods allergies although I haven't been diagnosis (no insurance) but I break out in a rash sometimes small spots sometimes large patches (from my knees down to feet) and swelling. Mostly whenever I eat peanuts and sometimes corn which I've never had in my life.

15. I suspect that the sudden surge in food allergies is in part due to GMOs
leaking into the food supply like the starlink corn did several years ago so what di the gov. do but approve it without evidence of safety. Our bodies don't know how to deal with all these foods suddenly containing bits of bacterial dna and the like so it takes the scorched earth approach :(. Anyway that is what I suspect is part of the problem. Also food additives like food coloring. I think it yellow #5 which is used in medicines frequently as well as food can cause some awful reactions in sensitive people.

If you can sometime keep a food diary noting which foods you eat including spices and any additive - even natural ones - to see if you notice certain foods tend to be followed by unpleasant reactions even a day or two later. I tend to react the next day after getting exposed to gluten but right away to dairy. The moment dairy hits the back of my throat it tightens and my sinus, nose & throat all pleghm up. I always carry benedryl with me incase I or someone else needs it. My Mom is allergic to flax and pistacios. She almost stopped breathing trying pistacios for the first time but thankfully remembered I had shoved some blister paks of benedry in her purse and managed to swallow a couple. Sometimes being a little paranoid is good!

I hope somehow to 'cure' myself of my allergies so I can eat things I used to love at least a couple of times a year. Right now even when avoiding known allergens and irritating foods until recently I *still* needed imodium daily. The herbs cinnamon and gingko - experimented with at separate times, both helped but I had to stopped as they thinned my blood too much, likely w/family tendency towards bleeders and digestive enzymes. BTW anyone needing to know these things tumeric also has blood thinning effects, I believe the same substance as is found in cinnamon.

16. Yep, I have suspected Frankenfoods as well
I remember eating Kashi Puffed Cereal like popcorn and my legs broke out almost in an entire rash. I didn't know this at the time and kept eating it without realizing the effects were from the cereal. I have not bought it since then. Then peanuts started doing the same thing but it was less severe as I was not eating handfuls at a time, but just a tiny amount would have an effect. I'm not too disappointed with having to do without peanuts although I love peanuts in Thai cuisine, and I miss making and eating peanut-butter cookies :(

With corn however, there are some corn that doesn't effect me and sometimes it does, which is hard to quit eating corn because I :loveya: it soooo much. I love cutting it off the cobs and making cream styled corn, and of course there is tortilla chips, I have quit eating corn tortillas.

I can also tell whether or not I've eaten something that will have an effect on me, usually within an hour or so. When my feet start to swell and my shoes get tighter then it pretty apparent that I ate something bad for me.

I, too am looking for ways to deal with this myself. I did start keeping a Journal with dietary habits but I'm not very disciplined.

13. How would you interpret
these two? Comparing, it looks like if you took two of the Doctor's brand, the Zinc and L-Carnosine match almost exactly. But, Doctor's formula also has Zinc-L-Carnosine. Do you know what that means?

14. It is a patented supplement so no matter what they call it is is all the same ingredient
which I assume is supplied by the patent holder Lonza. Swanson also sells Pepzin GI under their own label but still trademarked by Lonza. I went with the Jarrow sold through Swanson as I had a 10% off code at the time, swanson's had other stuff I needed at better prices, plus Jarrow promised no gluten, no dairy which are my current biggest issues. Swanson's version had caramel coloring which sometimes is wheat based so even tho it might have saved me a little I didn't dare try it. So order which ever gives you the best prices on the things you want.

http://www.nutraingredients.com/Regulation/Lonza-puts-PepZin-on-the-market

Lonza, the Swiss-based pharmaceuticals company, has said that the US Food and Drug Administration has allowed the sale of PepZin GI, the subject of a new dietary ingredient submission to the federal agency.

PepZin GI is a patented zinc-carnosine complex supported by abundant human and animal data. PepZin GI has been used in Japan for over a decade as an ulcer-healing drug under the generic name Polaprezinc (INN).

Lonza has an exclusive distribution agreement with Hamari Chemicals. (Osaka, Japan), to market the ingredient in North America and Europe. Hamari Chemicals manufactures and holds the patents on the compound. PepZin GI is said to offer exceptional, "drug-like" patent protection, in that the molecule itself is claimed.PepZin GI is a coordination complex of zinc with the dipeptide L-carnosine.

BTW the Swanson graphic for the Jarrow Pepzin GI label is incorrect. The label on my bottle lists l-Carnosine not l-CAMosine :o

4. I believe this strongly
I have seen evidence of this kind of thing in my own life fairly frequently. It first started happening to me with sports, strangely enough. I can think of several occasions where I would hear a song and I immediately understand that it had some meaning concerning one of our local university's teams. That is weird, but I am pretty big fan so it makes sense that this little communication avenue would have started opening itself to me this way. Something not life or death, but that I find interesting. It happens so often with one song that I know if I hear it on the radio on the day of a football or basketball game the Wildcats are beat, forget it!

During the last election I couldn't get "Bad Moon Rising" out of my head and I came to know beyond doubt that it had to do with Sarah Palin. And this was after she was nominated for VP candidate, but before her wild religious beliefs were fully discussed. That song just seemed to be screaming about her with every word.

This is definitely a phenomenon that I have experienced enough to put stock in. It is worth paying attention.

8. "Bad Moon Rising" that says it ALL doesn't it
Yes, we definitely should take notice and pay attention to how a song popping into our heads may just be trying to communicate something important.

9. And I thought an ear worm
was just that - or something like what they put in Chekov's ear in The Wrath of Kahn!

Thanks for this - just recently, when someone died, I kept hearing the song (don't know the title) "Anybody here, seen my old friend {john} {bobby} {martin}". Didn't know why until afterwards.

Sometimes I'll wake up and be hearing a song - there's always a reason, at least for me.

11. I get these all the time, and sometimes I fail to pay attention
or am too distracted to try to figure out what message is being sent, esp. if it's something like fragments of a silly song. For a few days, I kept hearing Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy."

My current earworm: "Expect miracles."

17. Oh yes, definitely
Music has always played a big role in my life--heck, I remember when I was 4, being amused by The Partridge Family, but becoming completely enchanted/zombified when "they" performed a song on the show. I'd stop whatever I was doing and stand right in front of the TV, immobile, till the song was over. It's funny--now my son does the same thing with current TV shows!

Anyway, I always had a tendency to listen to my spirit guides better when they spoke to me through the radio or when they put a song in my head out of nowhere. I've also used the radio or, lately, an iPod set on "shuffle", as a divination tool: Take a deep breath, ask a question, and punch a radio preset button in the car or the "forward" arrow on the iPod and see what answer you get.

In addition to getting messages from music, I enjoy when my guides send reassurance through certain tunes. Ever since Obama was elected, it's been Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" (http://www.dailymotion.com/user/jasonmrazworld/video/x67yp4_jason-mraz-im-yours). If I hear that song on the radio (and interestingly enough, they're STILL playing it--this song has staying power!), I know everything's going to be all right. (I just heard it, from the very first note, this morning--in the car--on a station that usually only plays '70s hits!--after dropping my son off at school, so I'm holding out hope that today will be far better than yesterday!) And how could it NOT be a great "message" song, with lyrics like "Open up your mind and see like me/Open up your plans and, damn, you're free"?

I also have been getting messages in dreams for the past year or two through the symbolism of stones. Different gems and jewelry will show up in my dreams, and then in the morning I have to scramble to look them up if I don't know their meanings right off the bat. And this makes sense, as I have always loved semiprecious stones and used to make a lot of jewelry. Those spirit guides really know how to push our buttons to get our attention!
