Ready for a rest

Spent the day yesterday with my mom and the roofers re-doing the crappy job they did 2 months ago. She doesn't do stress well. My co-ed soccer team had the female contingent go MIA and we had to play short for most of the game. My dad is still in the nursing home from the broken leg, but the post-op appointment was good, the bone is healing nicely, but he's a big baby and won't take a little pain and is being difficult (the morphine made him loopy and confused. He called 911 when they were getting him ready to go to the post-op appointment, but that's another story.) Now, the coffee maker has crapped out--it has served me well.

Now, I can rest for a bit. :P

I just needed a break from being needed so much. My mother seems to know so little and I get questions about any and everything. That strong woman I remember from my childhood has gone and this struggling hobbling weakened old lady has taken her place. She says that the cat will see her arrive in the truck and meet her and walk her to the door. My brother the artist had an interview scheduled on Tuesday, but the office was locked when he arrived. As of this entry, he had received no callback. We hope that the interviewer mis-scheduled and they'll call back soon. In the meantime, he has no regular job and few freelance jobs. He's clearing out of his apartment since he's exhausted his savings and moving in with a friend as a housemate. I hope things will get better.
