I think I have house brownies/faries/elves.Need help locating husband's glasses.
Lately several things I thought I had lost in the last 4-5 years have magically appeared in places I know I've looked, or placed I know I probably did not put them. One of these was my engagement ring, thank goodness.

Anyway, husband took of his glasses last night and now we can't find them ANYWHERE. Tore the house apart. He did not even go outside, they have to be here somewhere.

How do I go about placating these wee folk so they will have mercy on me? We really don't have the $200 it's going to take to replace the glasses (special unbreakable frames because husband kept breaking the cheaper ones = expensive)

Any hits on where they might be? Thanks...

1. Fairies love honey. If you'll leave some out for them, they'll
be ever so happy. Lucky you to have these happy little pranksters playing with you.

As for your husband's glasses, I see a butterfly. Do you have any butterfly decorations, or a butterfly bush -- something to do with butterflies. Not sure why I got that, but...

Good luck.

5. Ha -- that's great. I'll try to get some specifics
Am asking, but they're not showing me anything else right now. The butterfly was green/blue/lavender if that helps. At least you know his glasses are in the house.

As for fairies, you don't have to leave much honey out for them: just a little dab on a dish. Sometimes I'll put a little on the flowers in my garden, and that seems to make them happy as well. Have to be careful, though, because it can attract ants.

2. Question
I have always been curious what is up when these things happen to me. Do these beings exist? I would love more information! I am very curious. I had something vanish at work last week and I scoured my desk and work area, only to have it suddenly appear where I absolutely could not have missed it.

At home this happens frequently with me when I am looking for a specific piece of jewelry, usually my Grandmother's ruby ring. We were both born in July (ruby birthstone) and I adored her so much that it has huge sentimental value to me. It almost never fails that when I want to wear it, I cannot find it in the jewelry bag where it stays. I will search and search and not find it, then when I am at my breaking point of frustration it will suddenly be there. I have often wondered if she was just trying to get my attention to let me know she was still checking on me? It happen almost every time I decide to wear the ring, uncanny.

I wish I had a hit on the glasses, but your post made me very interested in theories about these beings or spirits that might be responsible for this kind of incident.

Hope you find the glasses. Have you tried prayer or some focused attention? My ring usually appears when I ask the Universe for help with the situation.

3. Ah faeries - I don't have clear ideas about the glasses but if there is a nightstand
or piece furniture next to the bed they might be behind it.
Faeries are supposed to love gifts of honey and sweets. Here is a page about them. I love the lore surrounding them.

6. My first impression as I read this...
they are on the floor behind an open door... against the wall. Was thinking of my kitchen door that leads to our back steps - it has a larger than normal space between the bottom of the door and the floor.

Hope the fairies are kind and let you find it. Maybe they just wanted to say hi and get a little attention? :)

7. Sit in a chair, close your eyes and ask them to leave them out for you
where you can see them. Promise them a present. Then get up and do something else. If you do indeed have fairies you will find them in no time. Now you have to keep your promise and leave out something that they like. Honey, cream, chocolate will all do. I have a little fairy ornament with a flat sunflower hat in my garden that I place the gifts on.

12. Yep. This is what works for me.
I've had this happen many times. Just tell them (nicely) that you really, really NEED the glasses back, and ask them to put them someplace where you can find them. Promise them something nice in return, like Cleita suggested, and when the glasses are returned, follow through with it.

I lost a piece of paper I needed, some research for a paper I was writing for school (college), and had been searching frantically for hours to no avail. So, finally, I just closed my eyes and told them I really NEEDED that paper and could they PLEASE return it. I opened my eyes, and there it was, lying on the floor in the middle of the doorway I had just walked through.

My gardens are my gift to them, especially my elemental circle garden, and I'm sure they know that. I am always putting things there that are intended as gifts for them as well. :)

8. go to the general area where he took them off, and DEMAND
that they show themselves. (the glasses)

Kid you not. It works for me.

BTW-- I had an instant "picture" of a wooden drawer (like in a cabinet?)

9. Is there a chair...
where your husband sits all the time? Check the cushions and to the left of the chair.

10. I saw a cabinet too (before I read through the thread!)
I envisioned something more like a sideboard--something wide--with a lot of stuff on top of it. Seems his glasses have been "lost" (ahem placed thank you fairies) in a jumble of stuff...?

Fairies also like milk/cream. In Celtic countries it's customary to leave a bowl of milk in the garden or on the back stoop for them. If you're not worried about attracting every cat in the neighborhood (!) try that as well.

MG Jr. and I are building a fairy house. We found a bunch of yellow flowers that popped up in the very back of our yard, in the "lost" section past the side driveway--the part we all forget about until it comes time to mow it. I mowed around the flowers and we're going to put the fairy house there once we're done decorating it. They do like things left out for them of all sorts if you leave it with the intent that it's for their enjoyment.

13. FINALLY found them...
......in the middle of the driveway.

No clue. Absolutely no clue..but I *did* leave a bit of honey out last night.
Of course, we tore the house apart last night for the second time, and he spend most of today looking. ha ha ha .:eyes:

Actually, I think it *might* be a prankster ghost instead of fairies, but I'm not sure.
Either way, I have a feeling my ex is having a good belly chuckle.

14. Was thinking about that as well last night
I had a spirit hanging out here for a while who would play little tricks and hide things from me. Once he hid all my teaspoons. They were gone for a few days, then just showed up on the countertop. It was all in fun, but sort of annoying. Haven't felt his presence lately, so I'm guessing he's moved on or is pranking someone else.

Anyway, glad you found the glasses. Those things are expensive.

18. It was fairies. They didn't lose them for you but when you asked
they put them somewhere close by where you guys had lost them that you could see them.

15. No psychic stuff here, just an observation: If I put my glasses any other place
than the 4 places I usually put them (night table, bathroom sink, kitchen counter, table by sofa in living room), I'll spend long minutes looking for them. Odd places I've found them: on top of books in bookcases, in the laundry room, outside on a window sill. If I take off the glasses and lay them down in a spot other than the usual, I'll have to really hunt them down later. Could your husband's glasses have been taken off while he was doing something, and he forgot to put them back on?

16. Oh, you have no idea.
That's the whole reason we couldn't find them..he was in the middle of mixing and we had just had a guest over. It was laaaaaaaate. We both have ADD and have had to train ourselves to put everything in it's place. That's why it was so strange that we could not find them...we're both at a point where we will unconciously put things where they are supposed to go.

I dunno, I'm just glad we found them.
