Question about cat reincarnation
My sister had a cat named Tikki for 20 years. Tikki finally passed over in December. My sister has stated that, because she travels a lot and lives with no other humans, she doesn't feel right having an animal companion since it was alone so often. Therefore, she has repeatedly stated in recent years that she would not be getting another cat after her beloved Tikki passed over.

During a period of hardship, my sister lived with my mother for about a year. Because of allergy problems, Tikki was an outdoor cat during that time, even in the winter. :( (My mother made sure that she was warm and dry on cold days, and Tikki seemed very happy while she lived at my mother's home.) After my sister got back on her feet, she moved to another area of the country. My sister would often put Tikki on the phone with my mother, and they both seemed to greatly enjoy the connection.

A few weeks ago, my mother found a solitary kitten under her deck. My mother has lived in her home for 15 years, and this is the first time that she's found any cats in her yard that were not neighbors' cats. My mother is not a cat person and usually just gets mad when she finds them in her yard because they frighten away the birds that she feeds. (Her yard is a bird paradise.) However, this kitten has completely stolen my mother's heart. She doesn't even care that the birds are being frightened away because of this little thing who is currently terrorizing her yard. (I say that in a loving way...)

Would it be too early for Tikki to have come back in a new body? Would it make sense that she would come back to someone else in the family who she loved? Would it make sense that she'd come back to a place where she couldn't be inside?

This new little girl may not be Tikki, but it's an intriguing idea that I'm enjoying considering.

Thanks for anything that you can offer in reference to your experience in this area.

:)

1. People and pets go to be with the ones they love
as well as the ones they need to learn things with or to help the other learn. Could be Tikki, if it is her, decided she or your Mom or both of them needed the unconditional love a pet relationship brings more than anything else.

I believe pets and humans all reincarnate. One of my favorite books on reincarnation is on in-family human cases where a relative comes back as a child or grandchild or other close relation. It is called "Return From Heaven: Beloved Relatives Reincarnated Within Your Family" by Carol Bowman.

btw if you have images on check out my personal pic of one of my cats. Didn't know him before in this life but i believe that we knew each other in another time & place. He has wonderful vibes if you can tune into him :)

2. Thank you for your response, Shallah.
Is the image of your darling Fredric? Whoever he is, he's beautiful!

I agree with you about reincarnation of loved ones within the same group. My mother had a late pregnancy right after I graduated from college. My baby sister died the day that she was born. She had Down Syndrome, although I don't think that her death was in any way associated with the fact that she had Down Syndrome. My mother was devastated by the death of my sister.

Eleven years later, my mother and her partner broke up because of infidelity on his part. Again, my mother was devastated and was as close to heart-broken as anyone I'd ever seen. She never really completely recovered until my great nephew was born in 2004. (Ten years later.) There was an instant connection with this child for my mother. Very quickly, she came back to life and no longer cried over even small reminders of her relationship. (This was not her first great grandchild, although it was the first with whom she could spend quality time.) I really believe that there's a very good chance that this soul is the same soul as her deceased child. It's at least fun to consider the possibility.

My great nephew has not been able to spend as much time with my mother as he had in the past since he's becoming more independent as a young man ready to start kindergarten. Maybe the Universe (and Tikki) thought that my mother needed someone else with whom she could share her love. The kitten certainly seems to be serving that purpose for her. :)

Thanks again, Shallah.

4. Yep that is little Fredric
He is the sweetest little wisp of a cat. He is so gentle with my much older senior kitty Angel who is getting a bit frail. he will wrap himself around her without laying on or against her to keep her warm as if he knows she is too fragile and arthritic to be used as a cushion like some of the others try. Angel sometimes I think she was one of my hamsters who had the same spunky gregarious personality. Even my Mom who was afraid of anything rodent like loved to hold Whiskers. Don't know for sure just know I have been blessed with wonderful pet companions throughout my life.

If you enjoy reading I highly recommend seeing if your library has the book I mentioned before, or see if it can do an interlibrary loan for it. There was one case where a young child had spontaneous recall of being in the womb of one of his aunts. He was forever damanding to move in with them saying she was supposed to be his Mommy. He even described the house the aunt lived in but no longer did by the time he was born. The aunt had miscarried and no one ever talked about it so it really struck his parents for him to even know that much less the details from the other house.

The author also wrote of metting Dr. Ian Stevenson the reincarnation researcher and telling him about the cases ehe had been studying. She was going though the reasons why these souls would want to come back in the same family to make a better relationship this time, finish unfinished business when the good Dr. said 'Isn't love a good enough reason?' :) I'm with him on this :)

3. Personal experience
I've had two reincarnated cats (that I know of :o) Astra Luna and Kagome.

My hubby found Astra 1 at a lake, while I was working the night shift. When he came to pick me up I was thrilled that she found him. We provided her with a good home and she was an indoor/outdoor cat. We didn't have her very long before she became the victim of a car accident. We buried her under an Elm tree in our front yard.

I loved her so much I asked the Cosmos to return her back to me. Then about 9 nine later, hubby and I were at a park (during our lunch break) that had a creek running through it. It had been raining for several days and the creek was swollen over its bank. We had the windows down when we heard a faint meow. I immediately yelled Astra. We got out and sure enough we found a tiny kitty (probably 4 or 5 weeks old) we pick her up and took her back to work with us. After a couple weeks I let her out the front door and she walked down the porch to where the Elm tree was and then walked straight to the burial spot and walked around in circles while meowing. Right then and there I knew we had received a precious gift of Astra Luna and the Cosmos answered my prayers.

As you'll remember we lost Kagome last July and she is now back with us. Again there was about a nine month lapse in her return.

I have done a pendulum test to find out if any of my other current cats are former cats of mine. I've received a YES.

So, I would say without a doubt Tikki has come back to be of comfort and joy to your mom and vice versa. :loveya: The Cosmos knew that they needed each other and that they would be a good match of companionship.

5. I am so glad for you that your friends could come back so quickly
They give such wonderful unconditional love. I know my heart has grown bigger for having sweet spirits do me the honor of coming to live with me.

6. When I was around seven, I had a series of dreams of past lives..
Edited on Mon Jul-27-09 12:53 PM by winyanstaz
I remembered pieces and parts of several past lives, including how I died in my last life and the life before that one I was able to accurately describe the inside of a palace in France that I had never seen or been to and the little boy whom I later believed was the King called The Spider King...he was badly misshaped and looked more like a barrel with spidery legs. He was also mean as a child but that is another story.
I have always had orange tabby cats as my companions..starting as a small child when a strange lady stopped by my yard and handed me my first one over the fence (mom was not happy about that but let me keep him).
Many years later after Butterscotch had passed, another orange cat came. I named him Nicodemus and he was my first cat that would do magic.
He shared consciousness a number of times and not just with me but also with my husband. The bond he and I had was incredible by any standards.
When my Nicodemus died (he was run over)..he came to me after he died and showed me where his body was and I sent my son to go get him. They found him exactly where he had shown me he was.
If a little cat can do that there is no reason to doubt people cannot do the same.
Five years later, Mr Wizard came into my life and he was my constant companion for 18 years. When I got him, I held him down and tried to wash the black oil spots on his nose until I realized it was not oil..it was his markings.
It devastated me when he died from cancer. I cried just as hard for him as I had when my ten year old grandson who I love dearly died and when my beloved husband died. I loved that little guy so. He only shared consciousness a couple of times though and only when he was hungry or wanted to come in or out.
I believe he got some of that bad cat food from china but cannot prove it.
I swore I would not get another cat because it broke my heart so badly to lose the ones I had had before but fate had a different idea for me.
I was helping out my friend who runs an animal rescue shelter and she asked me to babysit this little orange cat named Tenchi. His owners had had him de clawed and then abandoned him and he was almost starved.
I agreed and when he showed up I broke down and cried.
He is the exact copy/clone of my Mr. Wizard, right down to the exact same pattern of dark spots on his nose. He makes the same terrible noises when he takes a bath and he curled up into the small of my back the first night..same place Mr. Wizard always slept.
Tenchi has only shared consciousness once and just like Mr. Wizard it was all about his empty food bowl..but I have hopes.
Tenchi has found a permanent home here with me for the rest of his life or mine, whichever comes first.
I am glad I have my orange cat back in my life and just like Mr. Wizard, Tenchi does the daily walk of the gardens with me and sits in front of me to "guard" me and warns me of whatever is going on when I am in the yard.
We are eternal beings, and so are kitty cats. :)

7. the answer is absolutely
About a year or two ago I read this huge, very comprehensive book on animal reincarnation. I searched for the title and can't find it but I know I have the book somewhere so I will try to think where it's at and get you the name of it.

Anyway,it was written by this lovely woman from California who was in the health food and nutrition business. A retail store, I believe. She and her husband operated this business.

She got into rat rescue. Yes indeed, I know it may be hard to believe but a lot of people really love rats as pets and after reading this book, I totally changed my mind about them. Out in California they are very popular as pets, as I understand it, but just like any other pet, they are sometimes abandoned.

Consequently, this woman started a rat rescue mission which she almost abandoned because of the heartache and loss that came with loving an animal that doesn't have a very long lifespan.

But somehow, and memory fails me here, she gets another rat and it turns out this rat is a reincarnation from another rat she had.

This is a very long, impeccably researched book. Anyway, as it goes on, many, many rats come back to her, some right away.

She communicates with the rats through animal psychics. One of her beloved rats told her he wouldn't be coming back for awhile because he so loved his new job. Now just guess what this job is! It is hooking animals and their humans up--in other words, finding a way for the human and the animal to reconnect.

This absolutely is the most incredible book. I intended to post about it on this forum but like so many of my good intentions, it was never carried out.

I'm very touched by your story, IHAD, and the others on this thread, too.

Cher

11. Awww, rat rescue. How sweet!
I love when people invest themselves in what they love and what makes them happy. :)

Thank you so much for giving your take on this, Cher. I was hoping that you'd see this...

8. No, it would not be too early
My current cat, Lucky, is a reincarnation of my dear old cat, Rabia. I could communicate telepathically with both--or should I say THEY would communicate with me!

13. I also think they reincarnate when you're ready
I believe the late great Max reincarnated 10 years later as my dear little Oliver.
I have suspected Oliver was Max's reincarnation for a very long time. Does anyone know anyway of confirming that kind of a suspicion?

14. I suspect a couple of mine have been reincarnations.
But I also wonder if, after the loss of a cat, I have a cat-shaped hole in my aura which the universerse is more than happy to fill....:)
