I can't catch a break.
Tmobile just cut my cell phone off because of a bounced payment from my checking account..of course, they did not tell me this until TODAY, which is Saturday. Husband just left for his FOURTEEN HOUR shift with the only car we have that works, and I am here without the car, a phone..with my child. I called and begged for just a few more hours (until 6AM) and they would not relent.

I think I'm going to tell them I am going with another carrier.
I live in a very outlying suburb. If I have to go somewhere, it's pretty far.
I explained that husband had been out of work for months, and that I would be able to pay on Monday, which is when their automated service said that the whole payment was due.

Oh, I'm so angry. WTF. Really.
I have some money here, but not enough and I have no way to go get it to a store anyway.

1. Things will get better
Your husband got the job, this is that trailing end of bad stuff, you will get through. You will be taken care of; the worst things I imagine (and I come up with some doozies) don't happen. Be strong, you are strong. You will get through.

2. the problem with these companies is that they dont care.
Mine is off, too since this morning. I will not be able to pay until the 15th. They cut us off several times already, all they care is money. It will be back when you can pay, and they can switch it on rather quickly.

I will send you protective light. We will all get through this -

Since you have Internet access, try skype. It is free to call other skype members, so you can have your friends join in, too. My daughter paid a very low fee, to be able to call any land line on hers. You would have to pay a little more to be able to receive regular calls.

similar to skype..that one that's been advertising all over the tv for 19.95 a year, and the plugin is available at Walgreens. I could get my friend to run up there and get it for me if I can get in touch with her...
Thanks for the light. I'm sorry to bitch, they just really pissed me off. OMMMMMMMM.

4. is that Magic Jack?
If you check it out, let us know what it's all about. I'm curious. I think there are other charges on top of the 19.95. Not much, but some.

I'm phoneless, too, this weekend. My phone broke and when I took it to Verizon they said they didn't have my model number in the store and I would have to wait for one in the mail. I said of course you will be giving me a credit for those days I'm phoneless and also rebate a certain amount over the fact that you gave me a phone that didn't work in the first place. They didn't agree to anything but that's OK, I know how to get them to give me what I want.

When I get the refund, I think I'll switch to the Google phone.

I'm really sorry this happened to you, l'il dreamer, but if a better phone option comes from it, it might be worth it. Take your anger and put it into research and make your position better for it!

5. Yep, Magic Jack.
It seems it costs $39.99 for the plug-in and then you can use it for the 19.95. I read the setup instructions online and there doesn't seem to be any additional fee when you initially start, at least.

I am really thinking about telling them I'm going to switch..I know they are working hard to keep their customer base. I can flash this phone to my husband's carrier, but it's local only.

I'm breathing better now. Thanks...

6. Magic Jack - I am on my second year - good and not so good stuff = price is great
I paid the initial fee of 39.95 and have the 19.95 year , my second year is up in October
Sometimes it is flaky depending on your Internet connection. It fades in and out when you talk. It was better when I had comcast but now I have brighthouse which is cheaper overall.

I don't have a kid.

I use it whenever I need to call someone. It works differently for incoming but there are things you have to do - accept the call and other so the people on the other end sometimes become unsure

I use VirginMobileUSA.com for cell - no contract -
I have an old plan where I pay $15 every three months and 25 cent a minute for first 10 minutes in a day and then 10 cent minute after. They have newer plans now but you can even go for about $7 a month. It all depends on how many minutes you are doing a month. Between the two, I have phone service. I just don't use it much.

Sometimes you have to restart it if it is not working

You can go to target or kmart and get a virgin mobile phone and a prepaid card and be up in running right away. Look at their plans.
