Counterbalance of Negative and Positive Conditions: An Exercise to do
I have been doing these exercises for a few days before going to bed and have had excellent results. I feel like they are helping and wanted to share them with you. I wanted to share this since so many here seem to be going through some difficult times.

If you decide to try, please post your results.


Counterbalance of Negative Conditions

Find a place where you will not be disturbed for 10 minutes.
Sit comfortably, Sit in a straight back chair and take 3 deep breaths to relax.
Separate your feet and keep them squarely on the floor.
Sit erect, and allow your hands to loosely rest on your lap or knees without touching each other.
The index and middle finger and thumb on each and must be held touching each other in a sort of triangle.
When you are finally relaxed, take a deep breath and hold it for a count of 7 and release it slow and easily.
Then breathe in and out easily and slowly for about 5 or 6 breaths until you are once again relaxed.
Repeat this, taking another deep breath and holding it for a count of 7 and releasing it slowly.
Then rest and repeat this until you have done it for 7 times, after which change your position and put the whole procedure out of your mind.

In cases of deep seated or chronic ailments it will need repeating. Always wait at least 2 hours between treatments because it usually takes that long for results to become apparent.



Counterbalance of Positive Conditions


Sit comfortably as in previous treatment.
Find a place where you will not be disturbed for 10 minutes.
Sit in a straight back chair and take 3 deep breaths to relax.
Do not separate your feet, make sure they are touching, and keep them squarely on the floor.
Sit erect. Your hands must be touching at the fingers. Hold them in front of your body at chest level, thumb touching thumb and each finger touching the tips of the corresponding finger on the other hand.
Now close you eyes and take a deep breath.
Exhale slowly and when the air is all out of your lungs, hold it out for the count of 5.
Then breathe in and out easily and slowly for about 5 or 6 breaths until you are once again relaxed.
Then repeat the entire procedure 5 times, then stop, breathe normally and put the entire exercise out of your mind.


This so-called negative treatment (to counterbalance excess positive) is exceptionally effective in treating the common cold if practiced in the early stages of infection. The cold symptoms are the outward evidence of your system's attempt to rid itself of an invasion by certain types of hostile microorganisms. A “positive” treatment does no good in these situations but the “negative” treatment described here will usually aid the system to defeat and cast out (or subdue) the hostile germs in about 6 to 8 hours. Three such treatments an hour or two apart should be adequate.

The wonderful part of these treatments is that if you err and use the positive where the negative is called for, or vice versa, there is no harmful effect. They are physical counterbalances which aid mechanically in bringing the system back into proper balance, so if the wrong treatment is used it does not aggravate the imbalance condition. Study yourself and observe the results. Soon you will be aware of the slightest physical disturbance.

Trial and error will enable you to determine which treatment is best in each case. When in doubt, both can be used. Quick action on your part will help you keep in constant balance, which will evidence itself in robust good health.

It is very difficult for us to see ourselves as we really are. We have been conditioned from earliest childhood to ignore all but the most vigorous and solid impacts upon our Consciousness. We are trained by life and by our elders to be materialists. Small wonder, we give so little value to the spiritual and attach so much importance to the physical and its correlative emotions. Since that is true for all of us, it is foolhardy to ignore the physical or, worse still, try to pretend it does not exist. Far better, give it full recognition and use it as a foundation upon which a higher awareness is built. This deliberate expansion of Consciousness is a step-by-step progression along a path which should serve as a guide.

1. I'd like to try, but am a little confused
are you saying that the "so-called negative" is the "counterbalance to positive conditions?"

That the common cold is "excess positive" so needs the "counterbalance to positive conditions?"

I think a couple examples of types of conditions suited to each of the treatments could clarify.

2. I'll try my best at deconfusing you ;=D
1. Yes, if you are experiencing to much positive energy then the negative counterbalance is used to put you back in balance.

2. Yes, apparently the common cold would need the negative counterbalance to counter the excessive positive energy.


I have been doing both of them, I start with the negative counterbalance and then the positive counterbalance. I wake up feeling a refreshed sense of being in balance. I've only done them a few times and felt better upon waking. I generally don't get colds so not sure if this procedure really works or not, but I would definitely give it a try if I was prone to the common cold.


I hope I explained it well enough. I can see how it can be confusing,I had to reread it several times to make sure I understood the technique correctly. And of course the author explains the premise of the exercises more thoroughly which I will be more than happy to elaborate on later today.

But you could do both of the exercises and see if you experience anything different within yourself.

3. I understand the description of the techniques
I just was (am) confused about what sorts of issues need the "negative counterbalance" and what need the "positive counterbalance."

If it's just for colds, it's not really an issue for me. I'm just always looking at ways to counterbalance my own tendencies to swing from one extreme to the other...

4. Here's my thoughts on using both of them together
I think about it this way, I think of myself as a car battery, and when you charge your car battery you don't selectively choose one battery post over the other, you have to charge both posts to effectively get the battery to charge.

So, if you're feeling drained then this exercise should help with recharging yourself.


It's not just for colds, it is intended to help charge your energy vibrations within yourself. When you feel one polarity (let's say -) is over active then do the exercise that would counterbalance that polarity (the +) exercise would be the one to use, or if you think you would benefit from a total recharge, as I do, hence I do both.

If you can tell when you're having tendencies to swing from one extreme to the other, and if you can determine which swing you are experiencing then you should be able to determine which application would work at that given time. But if you're not for certain which polarity needs the charging then do both. It won't cause any harm to do both.

I hope this makes better sense.
