New Moon August 20, 2009
Edited on Fri Aug-21-09 12:52 AM by rumpel
New Moon
in Solar Sign: Leo 27°
August 20, 2009 @ 10:03 a.m. GMT
August 20, 2009 @ 2:03 a.m. PST -8

Sun is Leo, 27° 32'
Moon is Leo, 27° 32'

In this New Moon chart, we can see a lot of aspects criss-crossing in a whole lot of directions. Essentially, Mars is in an uncomfortable placement in Gemini. It is in the apex of a mutable t-square between Mercury in Virgo and Uranus retrograde in Pisces. Mars is also opposing Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. The difficult influence of this aspect is minimized, for the moment, since Pluto is in an earth sign while Mars is in an air sign. However, Mars is moving into the exact opposition to Pluto and the intensity of the aspect will continue to grow during the next week. Mars is at the edge of the extreme declination (almost Out of Bounds). Although Mars will not move much into the Out of Bounds territory, it is enough to cause us to feel tense, particularly on the days that the Moon travels Out of Bounds, August 26 - 31. If we felt the intensity last week between August 13 - 18, then we are likely to notice it again next week. To add to all this Mars interaction, Mars is in the apex of a wedge pattern from the New Moon in Leo along with Neptune retrograde and Chiron retrograde in Aquarius. There are two distinct wedge patterns involving Mars and the New Moon, but it is muddied up a bit by the location of Pluto. Plus, there is another wedge involving Venus and Mercury. With the Mars predicament in the realm of "take note," we need to define the aspects to get a better understanding of how to handle this New Moon's energies. We just finished up with the eclipses and now we need to start dealing with those changes, transitions and fall out.

On edit: sorry, I have to add from the newsletter since it does not say it on her page.

The Leo New Moon won't be gentle, but it has the potential to bring gifts into your life. This New Moon may be more relevant for people born three days before or after the 20th of February, May, August & November.

1. This is a very well thought out analysis. IMHO
Thank you for posting it.

I've had similar concerns about the aspects which are currently occurring.

Especially, the pending Mars opposed Pluto (on the Solar apex), and Mercury and Saturn opposing Uranus.

Those aspects, combined with the sort of vitriol that has been floating about has given me more than a little angst.

Still, I step back and think, "It's *only* a purge and hopefully a realignment, of forces which have been out of whack for far too long."

I also feel that there is a degree of hope and levity that has been restored over the past several days.

Silly me.

5. Thanks for acknowledging the Mars opp Pluto sitch, stell.
I have also been concerned, especially because of the vitriol, about this opposition.

3. Wow - this one really hits home for me.
Last weekend was a little rough for me and now I know why. Guess I better prepare myself for the 26-31.

Thanks for posting.

4. Thank you!
It's important to stay on top of these energies too, as the eclipses and the recent shifting of energies were SOOOO powerful!

I hope we can feel some 'evening out' soon...

6. I watched this video last nite.
The aspects of this new moon were pretty intense, and even more potent for coming off the eclipses.

Pretty interesting, especially his analysis of the huge numbers of inconjuncts in the chart. I also like the way he uses the charts in his presentation. It helps me learn.

Kind of off subject, but if you would like a buddha like the one in the background, I have two left from my old store stock. PM me if you are interested. :)
