In this New Moon chart, we can see a lot of aspects criss-crossing in a whole lot of directions. Essentially, Mars is in an uncomfortable placement in Gemini. It is in the apex of a mutable t-square between Mercury in Virgo and Uranus retrograde in Pisces. Mars is also opposing Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. The difficult influence of this aspect is minimized, for the moment, since Pluto is in an earth sign while Mars is in an air sign. However, Mars is moving into the exact opposition to Pluto and the intensity of the aspect will continue to grow during the next week. Mars is at the edge of the extreme declination (almost Out of Bounds). Although Mars will not move much into the Out of Bounds territory, it is enough to cause us to feel tense, particularly on the days that the Moon travels Out of Bounds, August 26 - 31. If we felt the intensity last week between August 13 - 18, then we are likely to notice it again next week. To add to all this Mars interaction, Mars is in the apex of a wedge pattern from the New Moon in Leo along with Neptune retrograde and Chiron retrograde in Aquarius. There are two distinct wedge patterns involving Mars and the New Moon, but it is muddied up a bit by the location of Pluto. Plus, there is another wedge involving Venus and Mercury. With the Mars predicament in the realm of "take note," we need to define the aspects to get a better understanding of how to handle this New Moon's energies. We just finished up with the eclipses and now we need to start dealing with those changes, transitions and fall out.

The Leo New Moon won't be gentle, but it has the potential to bring gifts into your life. This New Moon may be more relevant for people born three days before or after the 20th of February, May, August & November.
