Okay kids, next time you buy FOUR tagless plants JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE PRETTY
ask the dude what they are, what their habits are, and how big they get.

Anyone want four plants with BEAUTIFUL cobalt blue and purple flowers that are going to grow to 10x10 and sucker all over your yard? :P

Looks like I might have more plants for the back fence, along with the elderberries and roses, and probably the mock oranges and two of the currents.

Which leaves me at a loss as to where to put the vine maple and the Carpenteria.

I need a 12-step group to help me overcome my addiction to buying plants. :(

1. I think its a benign addiction
I mixed up a whole bunch of seeds and put them in a big pot, God knows what I'm gonna get. The only "mistake" I can point to is planting Lantana in the yard. They belong in a pot because once they start taking hold you'll never get rid of them. Its hard for me not to go to the feed and seed and bring home an orphan or two on the discount stand stuck way over in the corner.

3. Yesterday I planted three Salvia guaraniticas
two gooseberries, two butterfly bushes, a mock orange, and two ornamental oreganos. The day before I planted four western columbines.

Last week I bought 4 Salvia guaraniticas, 2 ornamental oreganos, 4 columbines, and 2 horsetails. Four days ago I bought a Mexican marigold, two "blue spires" salvias, and three goldenrods. Yesterday I bought three spicebushes, two wooly blue curls, a blue flax, a Solanum, and three Gerberas. Today I bought two grapes, a weeping willow (!), a mandarin orange tree (!), two Salvia greggii, and an asparagus.

Tally for the week:

Planted: 14
Purchased: 35

And the worst part? I didn't get a naval orange, so I might have to go back!

The good part is that all I need for the back yard now are winter vegetables, a naval orange, and a peach tree. And some plants for the side of the yard between the privet and the birdbath. And some plants for along the shop wall.

All I need for the front yard are 4 creeping snowberries, 5 California fuschias, 4 penstemons, and maybe 3 monkeyflowers. And some trees for the strip.

But I'm getting there! :D

And all I have to plant are all the plants I got this week, the sycamore (!), one other butterfly bush, another current, the Carpenteria, another Salvia guaranitica, about 8 bunchgrasses, a sword fern, another mock orange, my poor dying avocado ( :( ), a gaura, 2 elderberries, and a vine maple (!).
