The election really knocked my gardening off track.
I cleaned out the tomato vines today. It was so sad seeing all the half rotten fruit in the dirt, but I just didn't have time for it between election volunteering and my kids. Oh well. Next year will be less crazy.

1. I had the same problem. I hope I rated my priorities right. I think I did!
I may not have as much stored up. I just felt that if the right person were leading the country, I might have a better chance of not needing to preserve and stock on homegrown food!

My poor grapes rotted on the vine because I didn't have enough time to make juice and jam out of it. Most of my produce got the blight, anyway, though. I know what to do for next year from the experience. Someone said to use bonemeal when planting. I'm going to try that.

I wonder if it's too late to get my garlic planted? I kind of messed up on this. I have some I still should probably get in the ground in between freezes? (zone 5-6)

I suppose there were a lot of gardens that went to the wayside this year because of feeling the need to volunteer for Barack!
