I think the biggie that affects everyone is those darned plastic pots stuff comes in. Yet another reason, besides cost and more variety, to grow your own seedlings.

1. I got a little overenthusiastic about recycling plastic pots last year
Now I find I'm needing them to pot up seedlings before final planting out (I like to give them a month or so to develop some actual roots before subjecting them to the "soil" in the garden).

My curbside recycling claims to take all kinds of plastic, so after a quick cleaning I put the gallon ones with the little triangles indicating what type they are into the recycling bin. The bigger and smaller ones I keep to reuse.

2. my curbside recycling
is fussy about plastic - no 3-7 or unmarked plastic.

3. I keep mine and recycle them year after year.
I'm working a new garden these days and I find that I am short of flats for starting forest planting...things that take a year or so to show.

But, those coir pots are great too. Just plant the whole thing.
