Does anyone own any 'old' Kalanchoes, and what did you do to

get them to their ripe old age?
I just bought two small ones; they have blossoms that look like roses! Must be a new variety, but there was no name on them.
In reading up on them, I learned they don't grow well in the garden but prefer clay pots, and no direct sunshine.
Can anyone share any tips with me?

1. i put mine in the ground or in pots,

they will winter over if they have some protection, mine tend to get leggy - I didn't have
enough sunny areas at the last place I lived.
they tolerate heavy sun fairly well and they can go without water for a while,
but they bloom best with moderate sun and water.
the ones that look like roses are the new hybrid, but i haven't tried them, yet...

So you plant 'em right in the ground; I think that's where mine might be going. Thanks.
And the new hybrids are cute; I like them better than the regular kolanchoes, and found them at,
of all places, HEB.
