1. Looks great. I've bookmarked it.
One thing I'd love to see added is state debt levels.

2. PBD- Glad you like it- I just looked at life expectancy
one thing that strikes me is that the lowest seems clustered around the traditional bible belt States, Ky, Tenn, Ark, S.C., Miss., Ala.

Then highest seem clustered around Minn. N. Dakota, across to Utah.

I venture to speculate that some of this is life style, but, it would be interesting to know if there are some similar genetic markers in those region.

I seem to recall how people migrated as settlers from S.C. (Scots- Irish?) across the bible belt Appalachian region, while the northern states were Swedes and Germans.

Anyway, it provides some interesting data that can fuel even more speculation. :)

3. Minnesota's #1! Minnesota's #1! Minnesota's #1!!!
:woohoo:

We are also the best state when it comes to education. It is when I learned that fact that I realized how truly fucked up Education is in this country.

It's interesting to see how shitty the more conservative states are.

9. Yeah, that may be the root of a lot of what comes out of there
mistrust and a lot of superstition. Not to insult red State folks ( which I am sure I just have) but I mean about how they are so much more conservative and get into things like Intelligent Design and the Scopes Monkey trial. LOL.

10. I live in one of the reddest states, and I agree with you
The levels of ignorance and stupidity are truly staggering in these states - enough so that showing conservatives these statistics would have very little chance of bursting their collective bubble of myth and superstition.
