Woohoo! Counter-Strike:Source Bot ETA
Frag-tastic news!

According to www.planethalflife.com, Valve is shooting for January 17 (of this year, I hope) for the next big update to CS:Source - they will be releasing an improved version of the CS:Zero bot for CS:Source and "a remade version of the Condition Zero map, de_tides, rebuilt by Turtlerock Studios." They also say there will be a new map (not redone) released in February.

Finally! As a 56k gamer (I know, I know) I have been waiting patiently for this because I can't play online (lag is lethal). I know there are those that scoff at bots, but they're all I have to play with.

1. Heck, I've got cable and I don't play CS
becuase of all the jerks on the servers. I'm really looking forward to this so I can play CS:Source w/o the arrogant attitudes that come with CS players.

2. I hear that is a real problem
I've only ever played with people I know on a LAN so I haven't ever dealt with this problem but I have read enough about the online gaming community to know that immature behavior is rampant.

At least a bot doesn't commit friendly fire on purpose, or spend the round spelling dirty words on the walls with letters made of bullet hole sprites.

4. Off-line troubles...
I have the latest CS:Source update and have played with the bots. I like their performance, although I would like to be able to customize the bots individually - I like to mix teams on my own (different expertise and weapon prefs for different bots).

I am unable, however, to run CS:S off-line. It crashes every time I try to start an off-line server game with just me and the bots. Does anyone know how to do this?
