Addictive MMORPGs
MMORPGs Mass Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. Name some of your favorites. Right now I Am Addicted to a game called Torn City. You play as a civillian in an interactive city. It's pretty fun. You can commite crimes, Attack other users, join a faction, hell, you can even get married to other users if you want. Its pretty cool. torncity.com. My name is 343Guily_Spark. Check it out if ya like.

1. DAoC
Played it since release but quit shortly after the abysmal Trials of Atlantis expansion came out. However, they have had such a negative feedback about ToA that they are creating 2 new specialty servers that have everything except ToA. So I'm re-subbing and going to go play it again.

The main reason for addiction to this particular game is its unrivaled RvR/PvP angle. No other MMORPG that I have played even comes close to this kind of group vs. group combat.

4. ToA killed DAoC for me too.

You're right with the RvR / PvP angle, that was my love for it too. Before that the best MMORRG PvP had to be Asherons Call 1 on the Darktide server.

13. Welcome back
I love the game myself although I am entrenched on another server and probably won't start toons on the new ones.

A well run relic raid in DAOC with well organized opposition can almost be thrilling.

Some advice: Do much of your leveling on the new server in the Catacombs expansion and the instanced dungeons. Cat has some high XP quests and yields good coin. The instanced dungeons generate Aurilite (which, in turn, buys armor) and, once you kill a mob, you don't have to worry about respawns...

2. EverQuest 2, all the way.

My wife and I have assorted characters on a shared account. It's sad that we don't have two computers so we can play together, but that's okay. They release mini-expansions, called Adventure Packs, on a regular basis, and if you have what's called a "Station Access" membership you can get them for free, otherwise they're $5. The first full expansion is coming out in September and it will offer a structure for PvP that I think I can actually tolerate (otherwise I hate PvP, as I consider it nothing but a pissing contest). It will involve arena fighters that you can create and train in combat, that don't have to be your actual toon, although I think you can fight as yourself if you want.

They're trying very hard to keep up the quality level of this game, and while it's not perfect it's probably the best thing out there right now overall. I'm on the Lavastorm server, and my main toon is a 48th level ranger named Smirkey Chimpinchief.

Edited to change "58th" to "48th". The level cap is still 50 until it's raised to 60 with the upcoming expansion.

6. I'm into Guild Wars right now myself
My dad gave me some cash for my birthday, so I didn't feel bad about spending the $40 on it.

It is fun in a Diablo II kind of way ... not a lot of depth as far as the story goes (though there is much more depth than DII) but good action with a lot of powers/abilities to keep the game challenging and engaging.

Oh yeah, one big bonus: NO monthly subscription fees.

8. I keep getting in jail! LOL
I bust people out, I get caught. Now I worked out to bust people with higher levels with under 30 minutes left on their time. But now I am getting caught doing crimes and trying to bust myself out of jail. LOL

I think you need to keep doing crimes and going to the gym to build up your experience and stats.

A good site which offers an explantion for everything is Torn City Central, which can be found here: http://torncity.swooshnet.co.uk/

What's your name over there?

19. Torn City Kids (rant)
I am really getting cheesed off by these juvies on TC! I was invited into a faction, I donated points and cash than they booted me for no reason.... Then I applied to a faction and was accepted, being the highest lvl player there (5) He made me co-leader so apparently there was a bug that made me the leader, I knew nothing about it as I don't read the forums. Well this dude sent me a message that just said 'make me back leader'. So after a day and a couple of messages back and forth I gave him back the leadership after he explained the issue. We went another day where we talked about how to get the faction going and giving bonuses and such which he put me in charge of doing. Well today I go to log in and I get a red text screen saying I was in the Federal Jail for not giving back leadership...

17. It's fun...
but slightly repetitive. All the street crime looks the same (Drug deals, purse snatching, carjacking, theft of vital organs), the missions look similar (go to this location, beat up all the bad guys). But it has beautiful backrounds, and the plotlines between missions are imaginative...

20. CoH, WoW, and City of Villains (Beta)
ima addict yes, started in about 97 with AOL Neverwinter Nights. then it was Ultima Online.. as far as Large Scale PVP goes nothing has ever matched then PVP goodness of early versions of UO.

WoW comes pretty close.. i love the element of danger thats definetly a part of it on PVP servers.

as much as i absolutly love CoH/CoV the pvp is lame, lame, lame. owell...
