Brothers In Arms Road To Hill 30 is a great game, get it
It is without a doubt the most realistic WWII game Ive ever played, the most challenging, and the most personal, you really feel for your guys and id with them.

1. I have been looking for a new game for a long time
and this looked good. when i get some money i am going to buy it. Shooting Nazis in the skull never gets old. This looked like it had some squad-commanding stuff, too, right?

3. I just picked it up yesterday
hands down best WWII game out there. Really challenging too - i can't finish a chapter or checkpoint if I lose a man, I feel too bad, so I go back and replay it.

I will say that I got advised to pick up the strategy guide, and I think that I will after work!

4. One thing I am having trouble with
accuracy with the bazooka on the church tower level. I know you are supposed to aim a little high with it to account for gravity, but has anyone figured out just how high you have to aim? if you don't take out that second tank quick, you're toast, no matter what. and I've been toast for too long!

but in general, i want to reiterate how fantastic this game is. I can't get over how much attention to detail went into it, especially into the weaponry and sound effects. just superb.

5. Do you know how it will play w/PIV 2.2 and 1GB RAM w/nVidia Ti?
I really want to get another game that is better than COD. I've heard this game is it, but not sure if my rig will play it well enough to be fun.

6. Here's the deal: this game, and one other that I'm interested in, Silent
Hunter III, both have Starforce copy protection, a hidden program that installs as a driver for your DVD burner, happens without your permission.

My understanding is, aside from even the principle of the thing, there have been instances where this actually impairs the performance of the drive and can harm it. This makes me very reluctant to get these games, despite being very interested in them.

Uninstalling the game does not remove the Starforce driver, only a special utility does.

I realize that many people have played these games and had no apparent problems from the Starforce driver being on their system, but some have.

Any other DU gamers have experiences or comments on this? The first link has a list of games that install Starforce on your system.

7. Damn
I have been having problems with both my DVD ROM and burner drives for awhile now. DVD ROM drive sometimes won't read and disappears until a reboot. Burner tray works only when it wants to, could be the drive itself, even after multi reboots. I just looked at the first site you listed and found those starforce drivers on my system.
I have recently done a complete reinstall of XP so can not blame BiA hill 30 but I may be able to blame BiA EiB as the culprit for my problems.
I have finished BiA EiB so will uninstall it then use the starforce removal tool and see if my probs clear up.
Mayberry Machiavelli I sure want to thank you for the heads up on this!

10. Word. Warn the masses.
I long to see a day in which any software containing Starforce is a guaranteed failure.

I permit no Starforce on my machines.

9. Just picked up Earned in Blood
and again, it's so emotionally intense, I actually can't play it for more than an hour. Damn.

Really great job on this series. just amazing.

One complaint: Often I will have an enemy dead center in my sights, and I have to shoot at him half a dozen times to kill him. I mean, I know i'm hitting him or should be hitting with all my rounds. I guess maybe the enemy soldiers have the same capacity to take damage that I do? I dunno.

I still recommend it, highly.
