Programs: 'Myst IV' Preserves the Magic

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Reuters) - The "Myst" series has always been for people who don't typically play computer games. Instead of providing pulse-pounding action, it has taken players to exotic worlds, given them lots of time to explore, and required them to solve challenging puzzles to move through the adventure.
The latest incarnation, "Myst IV Revelation" from Ubisoft, doesn't deviate from that formula. Still, it's clear that the series has grown, and in all the right ways.
The beautiful scenery is still there. The puzzles remain. The literate story line persists. The immersive sounds and wonderful music give the game its depth. There's still almost no violence, few guns, no floating coins to collect, and no need to worry about repeatedly dying...cont'd
