Braben Reveals Elite's Future.

That`s right, it says Elite and future in the same sentence. It's a long way out but the thought of a Elite MMO is pretty damn cool.

Braben told us, "There are two project designs that we've got now. One is a multiplayer game, the other is a single-player, still allowing multiplayer, but not massive multiplayer, which we do plan to do and that will follow on from The Outsider and use some of the technologies that that employs. That's the way they fit together."

All kidding aside: it's good to see that his company is still making games. But a new Elite?
Simply can't wait.

2. I Like The Idea Of Them...

developing the engine on different title then using it with Elite. That way we don't get a bunch of half-baked crap that may or may not work. It will be long wait though.

3. True. Very true.

I really, really miss the whole "interplanetary trading and combat simulator" PC game.

Freelancer quenched my thirst for a bit, but it seemed to fall somewhat flat. And there was
very little multiplayer support for the game by Microsoft.

Then again, from what I heard of the problems getting that game out, I'm not surprised.

Still, this new Elite is still a few years off, I'd bet.
