what is a good shooter multiplayer.... looking for a game and a team

It has really cool weapons, a customizable kits (gear) built around 4 different classes and 8 different weapons, as well as some cool items like sentry guns, placeable shields, emp grenades, and a device to revive dead teammates. It has two modes of play: conquest and Titan. Conquest is a typical 'hold the checkpoints' gameplay, while in Titan mode the checkpoints are missle launchers that fire at set times and are used to take down the enemy's Titan, which is a floating troop/supply/gunship.

IMHO, it is the best multiplayer FPS out there.

I also like Day of Defeat, which is a HL2 mod. I spent many, many, many hours playing DoD. The gameplay is much simpler, but much more intense, too, as the maps are pretty small.

There are several of us playing at the moment and I think we're going to put a squad together in January.

Get the United Offensive expansion - best FPS game by far. Many different game mods have been created, TWZ's Merciless is my favorite.

CoD2 I skipped due to numerous lukewarm reviews, but CoD4 looks promising.

Maybe we've killed each other...

probably my favorite first person shooter rigt now. It sucks how most of the time people die in a few hits (2-4), except with the mp40, thompson, mg42, .50cal, stg44, or BAR. rifles kill almost instantly ( when I get shot by them ), and the sniper rifle's pretty powerful. The support weapons are a little too good in my opinion, and kill fast.
Fav. class: medic (I love healing people and blowing people away at close range with the trench gun.)

It's a great game.

any recs, for a game for the ps2 that is a good team player game...a friend of mine likes Halo...I'm not much of a gamer, so do you have any suggestions for a ps2 game...I prefer the game to be rather easy to learn, button config wise, cause my bud really sucks at most intense games/harder games...

It's 2 years old now but it's still a great game. It lets you play against Bots which is good practice. I love that game but I have moved on to the PS3.

I've been out of the gaming loop for about three years...I'm not rich enough for the ps3, and I'll probably wait until it drops down around 200-300 per unit. How are those SoCom games? They look effing great to me, is the game play good?

Sony's losing money on the units now at $600 a pop, so I doubt you'll see a price drop anytime in the next few years.

I never fully got into all the ps2 games. When I first got the ps2, I was all about Armor Core, Devil May Cry, and Tekken....there are such a WIDE variety of other games out there for the console, I'm sure I can find a way to kill time....:D I believe I waited over two years for the ps2, and I'm prepared to wait for a LONG while for the ps3....:D Unless I win the lottery, and then it won't matter....:D

Plus it uses Steam, so you don't have to have the disk to play. Good graphics and a highly realistic WWII shooter, I'd recommend to anybody. I would also mention that it has pretty good sound, too.

from the makers of Operation Flashpoint, OFP was one of the best ever FPS and had a massive modding community.

I can't really afford it but I'm going to buy it soon. I might see some of you online sometime.

The worst part is that the spaceships are impossible to fly.

They don't seem to have a control for nose-up or nose-down.

Am I just doing something completely wrong?
