How many here still play face-to-face RPGs?
I had thought the hobby was slowly fading - maybe not dying, but certainly losing popularity.

However, I recently moved from one side of Connecticut to another and my wife also gave me permission to host a game at our house every other week.

And, since I didn't really know anybody in my new area, and my old gaming group is mostly a good hour drive away, I posted on a few gaming sites asking for people to game at my place.

I've been pleasantly surprised at the amount of people that have responded so far - I think I've gotten like 10 responses so far and 5 or 6 seem pretty good.

I know when I tried similar in the late 90s, I got far less response.

So, starting in a few weeks, I could be starting a brand new D&D campaign.

1. My wife and I.
We play AD&D with a bunch of over-forties. I play some Alternity online via Chat with people in other time zones.

I just hate to see a topic like this go unanswered.

2. Playing since I was 8. 30 years for me.
I have my own developed D&D fantasy world with thousands of years of history and eight campaigns run through it.
I'm such a Geek™.

5. We do, and shameless plug I also write an RPG
NON D-20

Science fiction RPG

www.deistgames.com

PS, by the way, its the economy stupid

Replacing a machine to play the latest crop of games IS expensive and the replayability of machine games, even online RPGs is not the same as a face to face RPG

By the way, at the site you will find the magazine, it has some D20 material, as well as a scenario written for D20 games
