Post your WAR Servers & Characters here!
I'm on Skavenblight as Destruction and on Avelorn as Order.

These are the two SE Head Start RolePlay servers. But don't be put off by that; I'm pretty much only RP-lite. :) I promise not to thee-and-thou you to death...verily!

If you play on either of those servers, post here or PM me and we'll try to group sometime. (If you run across an Ignis, a Krolee, or a Darxon on either server, it's me!)

W-w-w-waaaaagh!

3. On Wasteland myself
Kzin (Zealot)

or

Milenya (DoK)

Got a guild there as well...not mine, but seems to be a nice bunch of casual gamers who are not kiddies. I hooked up with them during Open Beta, and they invited me to rejoin once the Head Start was up. Legion is the guild name.

5. My wife (kdmorris on DU) are on Phoenix Throne RP
We both play Order, and have also reserved characters on Avelorn as well, though we have yet to play them. It's mainly a matter of waiting to see where our old DAOC friends ended up.

Maybe I'll log into Avelorn sometime soon and PM ya. Look for Tertius, Melodin (me), Nakia, and Lasamnaine (her). WAAAGH!

7. I've been so Destruction-happy ...
I haven't even logged into my Avelorn/Order characters after reserving the names.

But I think I'll probably need a Sweetness-and-Light break soon. ;)

17. Damn you with your high population!
:)

We're suffering from a drought of Orderites to kill on Skavenblight.

I fiddled about a bit with my Archmage on Avelorn, and it's quite fun--despite being a mirror of the Shaman. ;) Only level 4 so far, but it's a nice change of scenery from Destruction.

Still can't get the emotes to work. I put in "/" and it automatically comes up with conversation only (say, shout, etc...). I got the macro's semi-figgered out.

I may need some help in moving from one realm to another as well...you said it's easy but my curiousity hasn't lead me there yet.

10. Moving to other racial starting areas is easy, fun, and profitable.
For example, the Dark Elves have no Tank class. If you go to their area, you'll be loooooooooooooooooooooved in groups.

Hopping around to the different areas also allows you to do 3x the Public Quests, with 3x the rewards. ;) And all of the other starting quests are ludicrously easy, but still give decent XP rewards.

If you hit H and look at the FAQs, Mythic has provided (at the very bottom) instructions on how to move areas. But...they're pretty lame instructions.

Here's the instructions I gave to my guildies. They're geared towards starting characters, but you should be able to see what you can skip, being a Big Badarse Level 8.

1) Get the first 2-3 starting quests in your starting city. Do those. Sell everything you get from monsters or as a reward. That'll give you a few silver pieces to start.

2) Hit M to look at your map. You probably start in one corner of the map. You want to head to the other corner, to the first Warcamp (with a Flight Master).

3) FOLLOW THE ROAD! If you take your time and follow the main road away from your starting location, you'll eventually come to the Warcamp. (I would NOT pick up quests in towns along the way, because you're going to be leaving this zone.)

4) Talk to the Flight Master. It'll take 50 brass coins to fly to another warcamp in another starting zone. If you look at the right side of the screen, you'll see:
- Dwarfs vs Greenskins
- Empire vs Chaos
- High Elves vs Dark Elves

5) Click on the above racial combo you want to visit. You'll see a map divided into TIERS. You can only go to one side (Destruction) of the Tier 1 combo starting area. Pick that one, and enjoy the ride!

6) You'll arrive in the Warcamp of that racial combo starting area where your friend is. Again, I wouldn't pick up quests yet, because you're going to be moving.

7) Again, you're probably in one corner of the map. You want to run ALONG THE ROAD to the opposite corner of the map, where the initial starting city is for that race.

It's really not as complex as it looks, I promise. :) And if (when?) you die, just dust yourself off and keep going. The death penalty is pretty much ignorable at low levels.

I've tried to get to another starting area as a Level 1 Character, but I'm always Level 2 by the time I arrive. :woohoo:

Hope that helps.

Edited on Tue Sep-23-08 11:39 AM by YOY
Now that was some cool looking realm work.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys1wvSzYU8A

Not the kind of place you want to go at 9th level though...it's not as friendly as you would think a friendly city is...there are Khornate fighters whooping each other's asses in the streets and one wrong step means respawn.

12. There are a few (4?) quests you can do there at low levels.
I was able to complete them all at level 10-12 or so, but I died LOTS in the process. :)

- explore 4 areas
- boil the prisoner's head
- gather mushrooms
- uh ... and one other I can't recall

The arena and surrounding areas are brutal. I certainly didn't survive many hits from those level 40 Plague Marauders. Damn you Nurgle!

I couldn't go down there...I'd get flayed alive!

I got the other two types...one in an alley and the other off in a corner I think...

14. Yup, they're actually down on the floor. It's deadly.
But you can wait on the stairs until the closest Red/Agro mobs are engaged, then run down and hope to harvest the mushroom before you die horribly. :)

Then you have to go to the top level of the Arena and circle around to the East in order to exit to the Nurgle side of the City. It's mostly safe (oranges, not reds), but there are a few high-level agroing mobs to watch out for.

There are a few near the walls, if you can find them. You'll take damage from the drop, but you're going to die anyway once you harvest, so .... :)

18. Playing a Witch Hunter on Dark Crag and his name is Bisceope.
So far I absolutely love this game, prior to this I was playing WoW and AoC. AoC blew but the graphics were nice and WoW had the content and was still fun, it was just old after playing for so long.

I am way into PVP and I really like how that is the primary focus of WAR, it's great to be able to have a game where you can just jump in for 15-30 minutes and have a blast without lfg or setting aside 4 hours a night to raid.

Anyone wanting to try WAR on an RP server playing Destruction is invited to come join us. Just post in this thread or send me a PM.

You will have to play with that YOY guy, though...once he finishes Dead Space. ;)

Work's been a bear recently, but this week should be slower.

The longest part of the HM event tasks is just waiting for the Reikland scenario to pop. Some days it pops like clockwork, other days it takes forever.

29. Volkmar transfer
Damn server went low pop and was forced to move. Guild went to a server that already had two of my toons names so I went to Volkmar solo. Hope this game survives.

BW Ketracel White (ST DS9 reference)
WH Ezri (as in Ezri Dax, also ST DS9)
and Phigus Engineer, as in Phigus Simenon chief engineer of the starship Stargazer.

Got to have a theme...... Star Trek themes seem to be popular, saw Picard the other day and Geordi and Montgomery were already taken for an engineer. ;)

30. Hah! Nice names.
Even if they do brand you as Trekkie Scum. ;) *sigh* I do miss DS9....

I think the game will survive, but all these transfers (and losing all of my names in the process) does leave a bad taste in my mouth. I'm hoping we'll get an influx of new players around the holidays.

If work weren't so busy for me at this time of the year, I'd make a character on Volkmar to play with all of our non-RP DUers. Perhaps in a few weeks.

Also, if anyone wants to see how an RP server works, make a Destro character on Ostermark and come roll with YOY and myself. We promise not to speak in Orc-speak too much. :)
