Vampire the Masquerade-Bloodlines
Edited on Sun Dec-21-08 02:35 AM by Downtown Hound
Anybody played it? The game is four years old now but I just finished it for the first time. Man, what a cool game. Anybody that likes Vampires, horror, biting sarcastic humor, or just a good old RPG game with one of the richest stories I've ever experienced in a game should check this out. The graphics may not be quite up to today's standards but they're still pretty good. The rest of the game totally makes up for it.

1. Did you play the first one?
I loved that one. I should buy the second off Ebay or something. Another FAB old game is American Mcgees "Alice"

But heard it was good. Bloodlines absolutely kicks ass though. One of the best games I've ever played. Yeah, American McGee's Alice is on my list. At the rate I'm going I'll get to it in about 10 years. LOL. If you do plan on buying Bloodlines, get it from direct2drive.com. $20 and it has the 1.2 patch already to take care of the many technical issues that plagued the game when it was first released. $20 may sound like a lot for a four year old game, but this game is actually pretty expensive due to it's cult status. It's rare to get it below $40, even on ebay.

3. Alice was great but short.
The music...especially that little chime tune still lives on in my head as do some of the cat's nasty little quips. "There is a nasty word for people who do things the hard way."

4. This is one of my favorite games ever.
It's really underrated, I think. Nobody I know seems ever to have heard of it, which is a shame.

It is one of my dearest wishes that someone would make a sequel to this game.

5. Isn't it great?
I don't think I've ever experienced a better story in a game. I love the Anarchs. Joined up with them at the end. I am so with you on the need for a sequel. But I understand that the franchise is in limbo because the company that made this game went bankrupt right after it came out. They were losing money all the while the game was in production, and the makers were rushed to finish it before it was ready. As a result, when the game came out it was plagued by numerous bugs and often crashed, which caused it to not gain the audience it deserved.

The bugs have been taken care of by patches, many of them made by fans that just love this game so much. That should tell everyone about what a great game this really is. That it still has many fans that continue to dedicate their time to by creating their own patches.
