PSN - Are we back? Yes we are! oh wait... No we're not
Edited on Sat May-14-11 07:51 PM by Ohio Joe
I just turned on my PS3 and was told to download a system update... it is downloading now.

OK, I jumped the gun as I started seeing news that PSN was coming up today:

http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/145797/20110515/sony-says-to-begin-restoration-of-playstation-network-on-sunday.htm

but after the download finished it still does not let you log in... Not a clue WTF is going on... how different :D Perhaps soon though.

Edit to add - You hear it here first, no news on sites yet :D

Edit #2 to adjust Subject.

Edit #3 To re-adjust Subject :D

3. I'm doing a system update right now
I don't remember seeing that as an option when I first connected. Taking awhile. Hope this means it's back up.

4. According to the map
Most of the east coast and Cali are done. Denver is still not up. My download of the patch went wicked slow up to about 75% (35-40 minutes) and then finished quick (10 seconds, heh).

6. Do you know how to delete stuff from the hard drive?
Edited on Sun May-15-11 12:59 AM by JonLP24
I bought it used and noticed I have just 10 GB of space left. I see format utility that says they will delete everything but I'm not sure if that is safe and I'm afraid that I'll have to sit through a system update again.

Also do you know how much (if any) space the system update took? It may or may not explain why I have little space.

7. 3.61 update is 176.9meg
To delete things, go into say... Saved data utility (up from where you start games), when you have the item you wish to delete as the "highlighted" or "enlarged" item, press the triangle button, this will bring up a menu on the right that will allow you to delete. If you have a used system you probably want to get rid of anything you do not have games for, also check out movies and music for anything that might be left there as well.

9. Wierd
I can't find anything. I go to Saved Data Utility and all I see is an Online Storage folder with -MB/-MB underneath it. I click on the folder and all I see is they asking me if I want to Join PlayStation Plus. I also checked BD Data Utility folder and there is no data. I wonder where all this stuff is that is using up all my space. Sigh.

Thanks for your help though.

10. I bet you have one of the older smaller machines
I think they went as small as 15 or 20 gig in the beggining. Take a look here for a good article on how to upgrade to a larger drive:

11. It's 80 GB
I didn't even try to bid on the 40 because my Xbox had 60. I was afraid 40 might be too small.

12. Thats really weird then...
How do you know you only have 10 gig left? I've tried to find out how much space I have left but never found it. I don't know what else to suggest, sorry.

13. Settings - System Settings - System Information
Edited on Sun May-15-11 01:45 AM by JonLP24
However I think I may have read it wrong.

It just says "Free Space 64GB/74GB"

So I think it probably means I have 64GB of space left.
