Well it seems yet again the wonderful republicans of michigan have enacted a new program
aimed at putting disabled people on welfare to work, its called the JET program. Job Education and Training. My girl friend who has 4 herniated disc's with bone spurs wrapped around the spinal cord,( she has degenerative disc disease ) just got a letter telling her she has to fill out an on line survey for JET then enroll in the Work First program. Mind you my gf's doctors just filled out a disability form saying that she isn't supposed to do any house cleaning or shopping, also because of the medicine she takes shes no longer able to drive a car. Welfare sent her to see a rehabilitation worker who saw my gf had some experience doing cashier work and told my gf's case worker that she felt that my gf can do cashier work, (10 years ago my gf worked as a cashier for 3 months )just more good news for those trying to get SSI or SSDI.

1. When policy trumps reality
We're all going to get screwed. They think that just because they put it on paper, suddenly the reality of disabilities just magically go away.

2. That's Not All--They Also Want to Cut Funds for Home Care Assistance
for the disabled. No cleaning, bathing, shopping, cooking, or anything for you undeserving poor!
