PBS's "The Pioneers of Television"
Edited on Mon Dec-31-07 10:48 AM by CBHagman
Beginning Wednesday, January 2nd, public television stations in the United States will be airing The Pioneers of Television, a series dealing with the history of television programming in the United States. Its focus includes late night talk shows, sitcoms, variety programs, and game shows.

From what I've read, there will be a good many interviews of surviving performers, plus airing of footage that hasn't been seen in decades. I'm curious to see who's included and what the slant is. Early reviews indicate that there will be focus on the political implications of some of the programming.

How many of you remember honest-to-goodness variety shows? How about early talk shows? Weigh in here.

1. Thanks for the heads up!
I hadn't heard about this and I would really enjoy seeing it! Now I've got it all set to record all episodes. Another good thing to watch while I'm exercising! :)
