I need a new, BLUE shampoo
I'm switching from Pantene.

I've got thick, wavy hair.

Suggestions?

1. I love the cheapo Costco house brand shampoo!
I think it's just called "Kirkland salon style" or something -- it comes in a GIANT plastic bottle with a very convenient pump on it, which is $6 or so gets you LOTS! I have a 10 & 14 y/o daughter so between the three of us we go through LOTS of shampoo and conditioner.

Also great for multi-girly-girl housholds are the maidenform bras ($20 for a 2 pack!) and camisoles, and the Revlon 2-step mascara in the 3-pack.

2. Go local
I live in Iowa, and I got some great product from the store that was actually made by some people in Cedar Rapids. Good stuff, too.

3. Tell me more. I live in Iowa too and not far from CR.
Would be interested in the product name and where to obtain it.

4. yes
I've tried to find some local stores, without much luck. I finally gave up and bought Aveda products this time around, but I am keeping my eyes peeled for more inexpensive products. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Aveda products, and may ultimately decide to stay with them, but I have a hard time paying $13 for shampoo and $12 for conditioner!

But these are two links about making your own natural shampoos (and other hair-care treatments):

ON EDIT: www.pioneerthinking.com is also a neat site for this kind of thing.
