Any interest from DUer musicians in swapping/mixing each other's work,
sort of like Post Office did, only via the Internets? I was thinking of basically creating a forum where people would download each other's tracks and then add intruments or create remixes. It wouldn't take much to simply swap .wav files online and edit using whatever we use--in my case, I would use Cool Edit Pro.

Any interest out there?

I'm a Cool Edit user myself. Actually, I've stepped up to Adobe Audition 1.5, since Adobe bought up Cool Edit.

I also have Wavelab and a boatload of Waves mastering plugins.

Here's a mix I just finished, local band. We were recording an album of originals and they popped off a cover version of Sunshine of Your Love for a demo.

2. Holy crap! I've seen Gov't Mule!
I think I saw them at Lounge Ax or Fireside Bowl or something, years ago. I had no idea they were still around. Yeah, that's right up my alley. Would you happen to be familiar with Redneck Exorcist or The Vindictives? How about Screeching Weasel?

The Mule is still around and making albums. Check out http://www.mule.net/

Not familiar with the bands you mention, but I'll check them out.

5. I'd be interested.
I've participated in a few remix contests (few meaning two), and would definitely like to do more.

We should get something like that going.

6. You should post this in the Electronic Music group.
There might be some takers in there as well.
