1. Lucky Dad!
I have a 1970 J100 (plain jane Johnny Cash model, all black) that I used for gigs for about 15 years. I retired the guitar and swapped over to a new Taylor...sold the Taylor after a year as it never 'opened up', even after a thousand hours of playing time on it. The tone just wasn't there.
I bought an early 1960's J45 with that money and have been happy ever since.
But I wouldn't mind having one of these in the gig rack...with a KKSound triple under that bridge!

2. I've upgraded up from
Takemines to the guitar I've always wanted since I started playing in the early 70's

3. Well, some say that
....real men do not play imported guitars, not me mind you... :)
My all time fav has been my 1926 A. Galiano by Oscar Schmidt, see here for one for sale...

Mine is a natural, has repaired holes in the sides, I have reset the neck twice since I bought it in 1975 (I am a Luthier by trade) and played it onstage till recently. It is fitted with the KKSound stuff too. Fantastic guitar, has a balance that no other guitar I have owned has, especially plugged in.

5. Oh heck yes! I specialize in the restoration of pre 1934
guitars and mandolins, there isn't much that compares to the older instruments.
While you may not be able to gig with some of the more vintage and fragile guitars, I used my Galiano for fingerstyle tunes up till last year. Original everything on it but the saddle, even the original Kluson's still hold tune!

I have a few 1910 or so Washburn's, Brazilian Rosewood, just fantastic quitar's. A little subdued on the tonality and volume but really nice to play.

One of the problems I had with that Taylor was it became evident to me that the guitar was only going to sound as good as it did the day I bought it, it would never get any better. No thanks!
