I really miss all the great posts here. Terrific discussions and enlightening discourse could always be found in the Edwards forum. I think a lot of folks have some concerns which they don't feel they can express without ticking off the admin team, so they have left DU. I really hate to see that happen. Spirited discourse should not be stifled, but encouraged in a true democracy.

But good to see you, WFH. And thanks for the update on Britney's baby sister having a baby. :-)

All of DU has gotten quiet since the primaries ended, I think things will pick up once Obama picks his Veep as that should bring some folks home....or not :D

Think about it, it would solve in part his disconnect with white middle class voters - something that is being played up a lot lately in the media. I just saw on Hardball that Hagel would consider it ... and then I threw up a bit in my mouth - blech. Obama needs a hard pull to the left and Edwards could do that.

Continuing to overlook abuse is quite another.

Those of us who have done therapy after surviving abusive relationships know the difference.

As for forgiveness.... it's given to those who ASK for forgiveness. Who recognize the pain they've caused.

You can tote a soapbox around... it's quite another thing to HEAR.

What will be is pompous and arrogant self-righteousness for a while, followed by sobbing blubbering self-pitying disappointment, and then another round of hope and we are back where we started. Do not try to interfere with their determination to keep playing out this melodrama over and over again or they will hunt you down and kill you.

It's July the 4th and here I sit

I was in your neck of the woods last week. Well, maybe not exactly your neck of the woods, but I was in North Carolina. We took the camper/van to the Smokey Mountains and spent a lot of time on the way there in NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I really loved that part of the trip. I've been to North Carolina a lot but always the beach areas or just passing through on 95. I LOVED western NC, all the rural mountain areas and small towns.

Good to see some old faces in this thread. I miss you guys.

We want to go to the western part ourselves, never been. Waiting for my youngest to get a bit older (she's three) so we can do some camping. She's still pron to melt downs so trips that take too far are not quite in our itinerary yet. We are planning a trip to the new Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach - it's only about an hour away so that's one we can manage. Good to see you and glad you enjoyed our fair state! :hi:
