Elizabeth Edwards Says It'll Be Close
NEW YORK -- Elizabeth Edwards, wife of former Democratic presidential candidate and vice presidential nominee John Edwards, predicted that November's contest between Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain would be close.

Interviewed by Skype video before an audience at the Personal Democracy Forum 2008 conference in the Time Warner Center here after weather problems prevented her from flying to N.Y. to speak at the annual gathering, Edwards predicted, "We are going to need to fight for every vote. This is going to be a close election."

Trusting in "all these things that would seem to say we can just sit back and eat chocolates between now and November" would be a mistake, said Edwards, seated on a floral couch in her North Carolina home for what interviewer and conference organizer Andrew Rasiej called a "live-vlog." Her husband, John Edwards, made a surprise cameo on the screen and joined her briefly on the couch toward the end of her interview.

"I said I would work as hard as I could to make sure he is the next president," said Elizabeth Edwards of Obama. Electing him president "is enormously important," she said, "but I don't think it is by any means assured."

It should be a LANDSLIDE for the Dems this year. I share Elizabeth's "concern".

10. Me, too!
We should have kicked the Republican parties collective keister's in this election. The Democrats have totally screwed us over.

3. The first step in "fighting for every vote" would be to mend fences with
poor folk who've been tossed out with last year's garbage.

4. Still LOVE BOTH Of Them... Still MISS BOTH Of Them... Just Got Back
from New Mexico, a "sister" reunion where NO POLITICS were mentioned in ANY depth! Just re-reacquainting myself with "real news!" I'm the only one of SIX who really has a clue, even though all but TWO will vote Democratic!

Just wanted to say :hi: and :grouphug: to all!

Now I need to unpack ALL my luggage! Flew out with one bag, came back with three... my sisters gave me far too many things to bring back! They're STILL shopping and it's NOT a favorite past-time of mine!!! Good to be HOME again and FLORIDA got rain while I was gone, now THAT makes me very happy!

I'm still wondering what I'll do in November myself. If close will go for Obama, if not... it's still John Edwards if I can find a way to vote for him!

But the fall out of The New Yorker cover picture is making it hard. And they are just getting warmed up.
