A Kansas Girl for Edwards....

Tonight, I stuck to my guns... tonight, I hope that I showed the backbone JRE spoke of...

In Senate District 9, Johnson County, Kansas, I stood among thousands of caucus goers to champion the vote for John Edwards. When the caucus location grew too small for the overwhelming and unexpected number of voters, the caucus went outstide... outside to a storm that was getting ready to break at any time with rain, sleet, snow and bitter cold. When the snow started falling, I looked around and was so proud to see so many people there, outside, making sure their voices would be heard.

I would love to tell you that I won the battle, but I did not. The majority broke for Obama, with second place going to Clinton, third went to one woman standing strong for John Edwards.

It can be daunting, one person vs. thousands, but I was hell-bent on my vote. I was told by the officials that they would not count me, but I refused to stand down. I'm sure I was not counted, to them I did not matter, but when I lay my head down tonight I will know what I did. I will now that I voted with my heart. I will know that I made a few people think...

I think John would be proud of you.

I found DU just a few weeks ago, when someone forwarded me asdjrocky's posts... I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this and how great I feel to have found a new family (and yea, I totally realize how corny that sounded).
