99.9 percent of the time I just ignore Beck, but this political rally happily using the shield of MLK's legacy is pissing me off...

Has anyone else found it strange that "Kenny," the guy who NOBODY KNOWS what his stance is, union member, ground zero worker who came damn near getting mobbed by some rabid folk at a rally, has NOT had a mic stuck up in his face? :rofl::shrug::rofl:

and after having read a few articles on what Beck and Palin are doing at this rally, I have to agree with your "internal rage." I'm feeling pretty rage-filled myself right now.

He said it was the most boring damn thing he'd been to since he was forced to go to a "revival" meeting many years ago put on by white Baptists.

That's apparently basically what it was ... a white people's revival meeting of the variety that took place from the late 19th century through, well, now ... the kind that tried to deny that black people could read or had any independent thoughts at all, but they brought up black people and women to the stage, introduced them as a part of their "movement," then talked over them to maintain their superiority.

But here's the thing. Beck is a shock jock. That's what he was before he went to Fox. He was bad at it, but he figured out a way to make it translate to mainstream "news," the kind that would only work with a network like Fox.

So I dunno what to say. He wants to be Father Coughlin. He wants to be him to make money, and he will be him just by saying all that racist shit he keeps saying, and it will make him money because this country continues to be populated by racist bastards.
