?

The only one that I can think of that might come close is "Hitch" but that was two minorities, not two African Americans.

1. hey! Welcome!
I'm glad you're posting here!:)

Good question...it seems as if they are always described that way. It still amazes some that we actually do have some two parent households, and that a lot of us are in good, long term marriages.

2. I don't think it has happened
Outside of the biographical movies, e.g. What's Love Got To Do With It?, Malcolm X, and Lady Sings The Blues, there is rarely any movie with a majority black cast that isn't automatically tagged as a "black" movie. Just about any movie with 3 or more black lead characters is classified as a "black" movie, esp. to most white people.

4. You may think this odd but, in "Jerry Maguire" ...
I really liked the raging love story between Cuba Gooding, Jr, character and Regina King, playing his wife. It made Tom Cruise as sports agent for Gooding realize what he was missing in his life. Thought the movie was really about Cruise, Gooding and King were the positive force for change.

7. You are too correct!
I never wanted to see Jerry Maguire because Tom Cruise really grates my nerves. I saw it for the first time this year and couldn't believe how well the love story between Gooding and King was handled, from beginning to end. They were such great partners, so natural and honest in their love for each other.

11. I loved the moment...
...when they were watching the game, and the brother of gooding's character bad-mouthed his brother, and king's character starts trying to kick his ass (literally) out of her house.

8. My mind keeps going to Will Smith movies...
Enemy of the State, Independence Day and though not a love story between a man and a woman but a man and his son, The Pursuit of Happyness. I don't remember Enemy of the State thoroughly, but he may have had both Lisa Bonet and Regina King as love interests - but King I remember definitely played his wife.

9. Surprisingly, one comes to me from childhood.
I remember my mom, who never went to the movies, so anxious to see For the Love of Ivy, starring Sidney Poitier and Abbey Lincoln. I remember the racial overtones in the ads on television but what struck me even more was that I'd never seen AAs cast in such a normal lovey-dovey way. I think I'm gonna have to find this movie to see what it was all about.
